Myself my daughter and her boyfriend were here on Wednesday evening, from start to finish it was a disaster. The man serving sat us down literally turned round to get the ipad to take our order a minute later we said we weren't ready could we please have a few more minutes he was annoyed by this ,he came back in 2 more minutes we hadn't looked over menu properly again he got annoyed asked us if we knew what we wanted for drinks several drinks weren't available as they'd ran out literally only prosseco or red wine left. We were then ignored by the man . Ten minutes later we asked the waitress could we order food, she took order food was passed over conveyor belt by chefs part of our food order was wrong but yet when we said the girl although apologetic was unable to offer anything else or what we'd originally ordered as had ran out of noodles so said she'd take it off the bill. The waiter just glared at us everytime he walked past us. We asked for more drinks one of which a diet coke the bottle was just slammed down onto the table without the waiter uttering a single word then walking off . He came back told us we'd have to leave soon as table had been booked for others after us said they'd move us to another table he then came back took our dessert order but the dish I was wanted wasn't there as they'd ran out of it so i picked something else, and he kept asking me if I was sure I wanted what I'd ordered as it was an acquired taste and his parents didn't like it . No sooner had our desserts arrived he told us we'd to leave in 3 minutes as table was needed even tho restaurant was practically empty as it was only just after 6 . We decided to leave as really felt unwelcome so asked for the bill we'd to ask them to take off the meal we'd not received they added a 10% tip on which was a bit rich considering the quality of the service we received. We literally spent an hour here half of which was either trying to order stuff off the menu most of which they'd ran out of or waiting on our order to come or trying to get attention to place the order .Wouldn't recommend...

Terrible service - the staff do not know what they’re doing. We went here with the intention of using the Osaka Nights promotion that they have of 2 courses(starter and main) and a drink for 12.95 which is advertised at the back of their main menu. We came here for dinner, so we wanted a full meal and this is what the promotion is for. The man who served us did not know what this promotion was, had never heard of it and had to ask another member of staff what it was before giving us the dedicated menu for it. When we then proceeded to order off this menu and POINTED out the dishes we wanted to him he inputted them wrong so we didn’t get the correct food - receiving a small size of the dish instead of a full bowl, so without any rice. When I pointed this out he made it sound like it was my fault and told me I should have been more clear - when it was him that didn’t look at the menu I was ordering from. He didn’t try to rectify it at all but reluctantly brought us some rice to share (full price of course) which frankly still didn’t give us a full dinner sized portion of food to share between us. When it came to the bill, they did not count the promotion and wouldn’t because ‘we ordered the wrong thing’ once again blaming us which meant that we ended up paying £11 more for less food. It was genuinely ridiculous. This made our experience of what was meant to be a nice date after work really unpleasant at the restaurant and we honestly couldn’t wait to leave after being made to feel stupid by the staff and being made to pay for things we didn’t even order. It’s a shame because the food is nice but it’s really not worth the hassle you get with the people that work here. I would not recommend anyone to come here and will be telling friends and family who have eaten here before and liked it not to come back either lest they get robbed of...

I came to Yo Sushi in Edinburgh with my partner and her mum for a Wednesday 5pm booking. On the whole things were pretty chaotic. After sitting down we were asked for our order twice within five minutes. We were not ready yet as we needed more time to navigate the menu, particularly as we are not too familiar with sushi. The waiter seemed pretty irritated by us not being ready but took our drinks orders. My partner’s mum tried to order multiple drinks which were all out of stock before finally being able to order prosecco.

After requiring more time to think we were left for around 20 minutes before the other waitress came back to take the food order. The staff seemed rushed off their feet as the chefs were handing plates over the food belts to customers. I ordered the seafood ramen but received teriyaki chicken instead. The waitress was very apologetic and we were told the seafood ramen was unavailable and I could have the chicken for free instead which I was happy with.

When ordering further drinks the original waiter took our orders and he slammed my Coke bottle down on the table without a word or even offering a glass. We went for dessert as well and tried to order one of the new options, but were told this was unavailable.

All in all, the service was pretty disappointing and we were pretty confused that so many of the options on the menu were out of stock by that point in the day. The food was brilliant but the place seemed pretty unprofessional particularly compared to the Glasgow branch. To add to this the final price was really expensive even with part of my order not being charged, with a 10% service charge which was not made clear to us. Probably won’t be back after this experience as we could get much better...

I got an udon noodle soup and decided I was extra hungry that day so I got a bao as well. This was takeaway. I paid and was directed upstairs to wait for my food. I waited a good 15 minutes. It seemed busy so I didn’t mind the wait as I didn’t need to be anywhere afterwards. But while I was waiting I witnessed the “chefs” “cooking” behind the counter, which involved taking things out of plastic bags and (literally) dumping their contents into little plates for the sushi belt. It was nauseating to look at as all the delicacy of Japanese cuisine was lost on these people. At one point I saw how they “prepared” my food. For the nap they threw some filling and toppings into a bao wrapper and tossed it into a plastic container and chucked that into a paper bag along with a tiny little container of my udon noodle soup. The server then handed that bag to me, without any eating utensils or napkins. So I approached this rather pudgy dude and asked for some utensils. He said, “what? Pencils?” Yes sir I need some pencils to go with my meal, you daft pig. He finally understood and reached for the chopsticks, during which time I asked for a spoon ALSO. So he put the chopsticks back and handed me a spoon. By this time I was super frustrated and I asked for the chopsticks ALSO. It finally occurred to him that I needed both the spoon and the chopsticks. I don’t live in Edinburgh, nor am I coming back soon, but if I do plan on visiting again I’m never in a million years coming back here.

My mother and I were a few days in Edinburg so we thought it would be nice to eat at a Sushi restaurant. I called YoSushi Saturday hoping there would have been a table free but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. But, the menu & the restaurant being completely full made us enthusiastic so we made reservations for Sunday evening. (Today). Now, on to the proper review. The restaurant was almost completely empty and had a “cheap” vibe (which most certainly does not suit its pricetag…. But more on that later). There was a sushi train, but the sushi on there looked like it was made 3 days in advance. We ordered sushi from the menu and when it arrived we were pretty certain they took it straight of the sushi train, it wasn’t freshly prepared at all. The avocado was hard, the rice was dry and overal it was just awful. Some of the worst sushi I’ve ever tasted, the sushi you can get at the grocery store tastes better. The 2 waitresses thought it would be a great idea to clean and do dishes 1 feet in front of us, bit weird I thought.. And then the price, £83!!!! Pounds for some sushi and chicken. The price is absolutely ludicrous, we had diner 3 night before this as well, the combined total of which was cheaper then this sushi restaurant & it al tasted better and had a better vibe.. I definitely recommend never going to this place, literally any other restaurant would be a better choice.

Wowie!!!! What a treat we were greeted by a very lovely lady I'm sorry I didn't catch your name but we hope your halloween party you held with your partner was amazing as it sounded. And back to the review we are super thankful for how you were so friendly and bubbly from the beginning and so kind of you to sit us at your favourite table we can see why the view of Edinburgh castle was so great to see whilist enjoying our usual favourites my husband loves yo chicken katsu curry and I love the sushi especially the salmon and vegetable ones. We was also very excited to see that they had a Halloween special on the sushi we are big kids and love something fun - well hats off to the chef because she made not only the advertised fun monster pumpkin sushi but also placed a spider web chocolate design on my chocolate mochi which are my favourite my husband loves the doriakyi pancakes the rasperberry sauce from it I love too and my husband who was very happy to see the spider wrote a message of thank you with my added heart to the staff for making our trip so beautiful. Drinks wise if you haven't had happy inside range lemon and yuzu very much recommend. As always lots of soy sauce, ginger on the side always great to have. Very much recommend visiting this branch of yo sushi if your in the area. 5 stars ✨ 🌟
