We have just had a horrible experience here.

We gave our order and when the food came, they had missed off a main meal. We had to point this out to them after waiting a while as no-one came to ask us if we had everything or needed anymore drinks.

Rather than saying “sorry” or “i must have misheard when we took your order”, she had the audacity to say that we didn’t tell her about our main meal (why we would have ordered one main meal and two children’s meals for four people is anyone’s guess). When she took our order, she didn’t read it back to us, so how were we to know that she hadn’t taken our order properly until our order arrived?

She had a VERY bad attitude when we informed her about the missing meal and she then told us it would take 9 minutes; it was almost 30 minutes before it arrived.

I am still incredibly shocked by the horrible attitude of the staff - one of them came over and threw down some drinks and said something inaudible - we later realised she’d said “drinks are complimentary”. We did not enjoy this meal, I was so embarrassed to be there. I was with my children and like any parent, we didn’t want them to experience this. I felt very uncomfortable the whole time that I was there with my family.

We have been here for a meal as a couple before lockdown and we were looking forward to bringing the children with us (as we couldn’t during lockdown). During lockdown, we have been ordering takeaway food from them on a regular basis (every other week) as we genuinely enjoy the food but to be treated like this when we have been regular customers for a while is not acceptable.

We will not be going there again nor will we be recommending it to friends and family as we have done...

Had a last minute table booked for 5:30, and was greeted by friendly staff (as usual!). We explained we were a bit early which meant our table wasn’t quite ready yet, the place was packed and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff came back right away and asked if we were happy to sit in The Wasps Nest which was about to reopen, and wow what can we say. It felt like a private dining experience. The place looks absolutely amazing!

Staff seated us, set our table, and had menus ready within minutes. I wish I’d got the name of the guy who seated us because he was fantastic! The young man who took our order was attentive and polite and made sure we had everything we needed, and asked if we would like our main with our starters and hopped on that quickly.

Speaking of food, oh my god. Two courses for £20 and the courses were HUGE. We ordered chicken wings which were steaming hot and the flavour was amazinggg!! Hands down the best wings I’ve had from any restaurant. We ordered the parmo for our mains and the bech was genuinely the nicest I’ve had in a long time. We also ordered a side of onion rings, expecting a small portion that you usually get from any restaurant but no, it was a huge bowl and they were so hot and crispy.

Passed on compliments and thanks to the owner and the chef, but couldn’t have just left it at that.

Thank you so much for a gorgeous meal!!

(ps didn’t get any pictures because we were too excited at how class the food looked and...

This spot is dope! Staff are friendly enough and we got served pretty quickly even though it was quite a hot day. Perfect with the bar stools and open seating at the window which was removed so you got the fresh air in. Toilets are class (artwork!) just go visit to see as I'm not taking pics in there 😂 the kids came with us and they enjoyed the chilled music and vibe of the place on a Tuesday afternoon in the summer holidays. I will be coming back for food soon as I hear the menu is good too with offerings Burger, Parmo, Steak and Platters ad your key mains. They do a selection of small plates which are great for a quick lunch but also do a breakfast manue 10am-12pm. Will be back for more soon!

I've been here twice, once for brunch and once for lunch. Both times were lovely, the food is really tasty, when I had brunch I had like an egg and chorizo dish which I really liked. When I came for lunch I had the blackened cod tacos with the pulled pork loaded fries, my partner had the minted lamb burger with the ham loaded fries, the food was delicious and the staff were really attentive. The lunch was post lockdown so there was a QR code to scan to assist with track and trace and there was hand sanitizer when you went in so it has good Covid-19 measures.

Food was very disappointing. We ordered takeaway and the food arrived cold. The chips and halloumi were soggy, we ordered two half parmos and a kids parmo and they were all the exact same size for £4 difference. The chicken was chewy and hard to cut. We also got a kids tenders meal, also very tough and spicy for a kids meal. Halloumi comes coated in the ‘sauce’ so it’s not a sauce at all. The salad that came with the parmo wasn’t bad - about all we actually ate. Pictures is the two adults parmos, shoved in one box. Would never order from here again.

"Hope and Union" is a somewhat quirky pub/restaurant that we loved. I had corn fed chicken which was moist and succulent. It was a presented on a tasty bed of salad. In my humble opinion this eatery is worth a visit for what I call, their unique selling point, the toilet art experience. However the loos were clean and tidy. I photographed the loos and loved the art. The ambiance is neo industrial and has a fabulous stark element. Google will take you to. The service was very friendly and efficient. We will be back.
