Chef is incapable of cooking a steak as requested, all 3 steaks this time were wrong, medium came out well done as did medium rare, management refused to rectify it and suggested we should just eat it as it is! Or order a more expensive option as you had run out of the 2 different steaks we had tried to order Appalling service, ruined our evening, will not be returning or recommending to anyone Following up after your response Thatâs simply not true is it! We were certainly not rude despite being told that the well done chewy steak was indeed medium rare and as you say âcooked to perfection â do you not think that the customer should make that judgement? You couldnât offer us a replacement meal as the clearly inexperienced young lady that wasâacting managerâ told us not only did you not have and sirloin which was my wifeâs first choice meaning we had to upgrade to the t bone you also didnât have any more t bone because the overcooked steaks you presented us with were the last ones because it had been âsuch a busy dayâ the acting manager was lovely and polite also apologised for us being called liars by the chef and agreed that the steaks were clearly overcooked, we were made to feel very uncomfortable and had to pay over the odds for our two children to eat while we left very upset and still hungry As a small business owner myself I cannot understand the mentality of the owner of this establishment and a guess I would think the owner is the chef as it seems to me he is the only person in the right You have also responded now calling us liars and claiming we were rude to your staff lets make it clear that you are lying! Your staff were lovely and pleasant and also agreed that weâre correct about the over cooked food also agreed that although we had not complained in the past about the usually undercooked steaks that it was not fair on us to have food thatâs not as we asked for it but the staff clearly have no say in the response to any issues raised and like I stated before I can only assume that Iâm correct in saying the rude lying pigheadedness that is coming from the owner of this establishment directly at itâs customers is as a result of the owner being the chef and accepting no responsibility or constructive criticism! I only hope that this review along with a good number of others that have left similar reviews will help to prevent others from receiving this kind of unfair and unacceptable...
Read moreBit of a mixed review. Nice dÊcor and atmosphere, however, the staff were a bit lack lustre, they were polite enough but little things were annoying: we asked for a jug of water and they only brought 2 glasses for a table of 4, I had to ask for an additional 2. We all had milkshakes, which were nice, and we left the empty glasses on the end of the table, it was clear that they were done with and again had to ask for them to be removed, despite the restaurant being quiet and staff passing the table often. They forgot an item from our order and had to be reminded. So nothing serious, however, given the price point maybe they need a little more training.
We waited an hour for the food in a restaurant that was less than half full, other tables waited longer and one table left before receiving their food.
We ordered a Rump, Texan burger, and 2 Chicken/Rib combo's. I can't comment on the burger or steak, however, our guests enjoyed them. The chicken and rib combo were disappointing to say the least, the presentation was good, however, the quality left a lot to be desired. The Southern fried chicken was, potentially, the only item that was fresh, the remainder was frozen. The ham ribs were particularly cheap and the chicken lacked flavour. At this price point they had the opportunity to make something special, but serve chain pub quality food at fresh food prices.
Nice restaurant, polite, if not particularly well trained, staff, but, food quality not so good.
The review before mine, chronologically, Samantha Bane, was actually at the restaurant on the same day as us, and from what we saw, her account was accurate, she articulated her complaint, quietly, politely, and concisely, despite the owners response. All poor restaurateurs fail to address short comings and attempt to reflect negative reviews back onto customers.
I suggest that her party didn't make your waitress cry, you did when you provided poor service standards, below par food, and...
Read moreI would like to preface this by saying this review is not representative of the staff, they were absolutely lovely and welcoming and attentive. However, I will not be returning. We came on a Saturday mid afternoon, probably one of 4 tables seated so it was very empty which I probably should have taken into account. My main complaint is the food. We paid around £9 for two very average corn dogs to start but my main disappointment was the "cheesedog". It came out in a pale baguette with some cheese melted on top. I've photographed it so you can see. It was the blandest, strangest "hot dog" I've had in my life. The chips were ultimately oven chips. Having had cheesedogs in other restaurants, this was not what I expected and not what I feel should be served and also not what you find when you google "cheesedog". I understand it's a Steakhouse and maybe had I had a steak my experience would be different, but I feel they should take pride in all their dishes as well. I didn't feel the need to raise it because you get what you're given, and I'll have remember to look at reviews of the foods next time. The only other thing to note was the sauces had stickers on for June/July suggesting they should be thrown out. We checked the actual useby date and they were in date but they had throw out stickers on them. My partner explained that in restaurants they have their own "use by" dates for things like sauces. Overall quite...
