We visited here on 31.03.25 and was very impressed with our waitress Saffron. She was extremely helpful, friendly, patient and attentive throughout our visit. She offered to help us with explaining the different deals and best value for money etc. She had no issue with swapping ingredients on our pizza (we wanted to swap the beef for onion, and as they didn't have any spicy pork, we asked to have chicken instead) Once our food was served, we were taking some pictures of each other and our meal etc and she came over and offered to take a picture of us together, which was really nice of her and very much appreciated! I can often feel a bit nervous to ask staff members to take pictures, as I feel awkward and am conscious they may feel nervous to do it, but her offering to take one made things so much easier and it's nice to have for memories. We had already paid for our food as you pay at the start of the meal in this restaurant, so she wasn't doing this just to try and get a tip or anything. Saffron was really friendly throughout our whole visit and seemed very genuine in how much she enjoyed interacting and helping customers, it didn't feel forced or like she was doing it because she had been told to. She was far nicer than the other waitress who greeted and seated us. Saffron really made a difference to our visit.
In terms of the food, the pizza was great tasting and really good quality, very plentiful with toppings too. The only criticism would be that the base was EXTREMELY thin, so you could not pick up the pizza without it flopping over and the sauce dripping off. I am not sure if it was so thin because it was a sharing pizza, but I have not known Pizza Hut Pizzas to be that thin before. I would definitely recommend getting the garlic powder topping (which is free of charge) added on if you like garlic, this made it taste even better. It was great value for money, 1 large sharing meat feast pizza with 2 salad bowls and 2 drinks for £27 (I was able to get about £7 discount...
Read moreWell I couldn't leave a 0 star review so 1 star will have to do. After having one good experience here the rest have been terrible. My girlfriend went here a week or two ago with her friend and was asked by a chef why "two people needed so much food" and when they complained, although they were offered money off vouchers were told "it's a fair comment really isn't it"
If that isn't appalling enough I went here with a few friends last night and it was the worst experience I have ever had. Food all over the floor, cobwebs everywhere, the seating was filthy and so were the toilets. To top this off we were told upon entering despite booking there would be a 20 minute delay on cooking the pizza. Fine. But after 15 minutes we were not served despite staff standing around doing absolutely nothing, and had to ask to be served. There was then a horrific wait for the worst pizza I have experienced. At this point one of my friends was offput by the awful state of the place and did not want to eat, the BBQ chicken wings we ordered were actually spicy and the pizzas were dry. My friend ate 2 slices of hers, and my girlfriend 2 slices of hers, and although I did finish my own was left with an upset stomach after. I will also add that the usually excellent salad was disgusting and felt like it had been left around a while or something.
Although we were offered money back, we were not told until we complained that they were not using one certain ingredient because they only had a gluten version left and could not use it in case we were gluten intolerant. We should have but were not told this to start off with! Maybe I am wrong but perhaps someone with such an allergy would also ask to make sure that this isn't included.
This makes me reluctant after the last 2 bad...
Read moreDepressing as all hell. Would have walked out if it wasn't for our daughter specifically wanting a Pizza Hut pizza. You have to scan a QR code now to order because apparently it's too much to ask to speak to the people who literally already work there.
The page you are then faced with ordering from is just a dispassionate list of everything on the menu and it takes ages, with everyone passing a single phone around. Takes so much longer than just speaking to a server, you can't ask about any deals or food allergies or make any amends, etc etc. The UX element is absolutely shocking.
You have to get up and get your own cutlery, ask for boxes, and spend a lot of time doing things that normally get taken care of by people who work there. Obviously, you can't split the bill at the end either, because you paid via QR code. The self-service model very rarely works in a restaurant - why else would you go to a restaurant?!
It was a miserable, cold, dull and dystopian experience and I can confidently say it will be the last time I ever go to a Pizza Hut. There is nothing that can replace human contact & good service in your establishment.
There are loads of good places to eat in Great Yarmouth and you get to support actual humans that work there, go there instead. I genuinely urge anyone reading this to boycott this establishment as this practice is inconvenient at best, and dehumanising at worst.
I feel extremely sorry for the lovely staff here, as it's blatantly obvious they are not considered worthy of human...
