Ben & Shelley's Ice Cream Parlour — Restaurant in Havant

Popped in here one Saturday afternoon in August...there was a group of 7 of us and the shop was empty when we arrived, by the time we had been served there was a queue out the door!

The shop was manned by a group of 3 or 4 very young girls who clearly didn't have a clue what they were doing.

The slow service meant that my mum's ice cream had begun to melt before they had finished serving us...I asked them to pop it back in the freezer so that it wouldn't be 'soup' by the time she got to eat it. They said they couldn't and one girl (who seemed to be in charge) stuck the cone and ice cream upside down in a tub and popped it back on the counter!

We were then left standing waiting to pay...when they eventually decided to take our money I asked them to make my mum's ice cream again as she was now basically left with a cone and liquid in the tub...the girl said she couldn't do anything as the owner wasn't there and the freezers always struggle when it is a hot day!!

An absolute shambles...it was a hot day and the island was busy but this shop has been there for years and should be prepared with experienced staff who can serve quickly and offer a decent level of customer...

I agree with the previous reviews on choice and im sure they are lovely. Unfortunately i chose a large Mr Whippy ice cream. For a large i would hate to see the small. It came in the smallest cone they do - all be it suitable for vegans! with 1 small swirl on the top There was so little ice cream in it the free flake could barely support itself. All this for the bargain price of £3.50. Which is the same price as 3 massive scoops of their assorted flavours that come in a huge waffle cone. When i pointed out this the young girl told me its because the Mr Whippy ice cream goes all the way down the cone lol not that you can get much ice cream in a cone that is 5 inches high. Needless to say i will NOT be having the Mr Wippy again, but for those of you with money to burn and dont like ice cream much its the choice for...

You should update your closing times on google/online as it says 9pm for closure. However, today went back with the family on purpose to have your ice cream as it is delicious last time, we arrived at 8:03pm to only be told by the young lady that you were closed. I said that online it says that the closing time is 9pm, to what she replied they were closing earlier because you had no more ingredients (for pizza) I said we just wanted ice cream, and she just said that the till was closed, she wasn’t very pleasant and just turned her back to continue tidy up the chairs. Sorry, it makes no sense to close an hour earlier in the peak of the summer, in a holiday area. The ice cream is very good but the service...
