I’ve only ever given one other Prezzo a bad rating and it saddens me to so the same to this chain as I do love Prezzo.
I’ve visited this chain 3 times in the last year. The first experience was when it was brand new and first open so it was pleasant.
The second experience was early April this year. The manager was clueless to what offers they had, I’m always prepared and asked him for the new Spring set menu. He didn’t know what it was as they didn’t seem to be promoting it and placing them on the tables. He managed to dig one out and I mentioned the 3 course that they should have had and he again had to dig around to find it.
It wasn’t busy there was only one other family in the restaurant (which says a lot..) and when my husband and I ordered the burgers they said they only had one. Didn’t offer to give us anything of the same price but said they had enough for one burger So they could take one of the burger patties from one and make a new one! What!? So you’re mugging me off half my meal and still charging me the cost? 🤔
I opted for something else in the end. The meals itself were tasty so hats off to the chefs that work there. The service was so slow considering there was only us and another family there.
The last time we went was this bank holiday weekend just gone. We went in and asked the manager if we could have the booth as there was one left..he said yes so we sat down and waited..ages..before he realised he had left us on our own. The table needed a wipe down which we asked him to do. He brought over the menus and only one child menu for our eldest even though our 4 year old was there and gave her an adult one..
On the website it clearly stated the bank holiday offers including the kids eating for £1. Again no advertising on their menus and when I asked the manager he said “no it’s a bank holiday so no offers today sorry!” I told him about the website and he said to try the voucher at the end when the bill comes!
The service was slow to begin and then the poor waitress who was on the floor on her own while the manager pretended to look busy was left to it. She was lovely and did her best in a manic situation. Again the food was good so it’s just the management of the place. Lo and behold my voucher worked when I got the bill which shows poor knowledge from the manager again.
The manager needs to go on some training course, he never knows what offers are on or how to entice people in. Bank holiday was a bit busier than usual but I never normally see this place busy, I can see it getting shut down in the near...
Read morePrezzo in Borehamwood is a pleasant experience... service is decent. I ordered a Bruschetta and Calzone, Calzone being my go to dish generally in this type of establishment. Unfortunately this wasn't my favourite, it was very Herby and very dry...the sauce was in a little saucer which was on the side of the plate and it was cold. I'm not sure if this is a traditional way of serving the dish, but unfortunately for me it wasn't my favourite way of serving it. I prefer my Calzone to have the sauce on the inside, doesn't need to be loads of it, but enough to keep it from being bone dry. I feel if the sauce was on the inside of the Calzone I wouldn't have noticed how Herby it was. Unfortunately I only ate half of it, Nd I generally never leave food.
The Bruschetta was nice, a little crispy, but it was nice and flavoursome, I couldn't really complain.
Would I recommend Prezzo in Borehamwood, I would, despite my experience, it wasn't a horrible experience by far, and the service was nice also...my partner and her friend seemed to enjoy their dishes, Carbonara and spaghetti Bolognese respectively.
They also accept tastecard, so if you have one of these definitely take advantage of this as money off any meal, especially in these times is always...
Read moreFirst of all, id give them 80% for the outdoor dinning experience, although we didn’t eat outside because it was cold, the fact that they were able to incorporate an outdoor dinning experience despite the small size of the restaurant, compared to others I’ve been to,is commendable.
Walking into the restaurant is a bliss. The ambience is breathtaking. Their table for 2 is cute and comfy. They have lovely staff too, although in my personal opinion, they need more. They have a quite affordable menu too, with their spaghetti carbonara going for £11.74. Not bad to be fair. I like how two people can comfortably eat there on a £50 budget. The drinks are super affordable too and their food tastes very nice. They also are intentional about feedback and it’s something most people don’t do. For dessert, we had their cheesecake and hot chocolate and oh my gosh! It was brilliant! I had such a great time there that I dropped a £20 tip, which is something I don’t do if I don’t like the service. I would definitely go back.
I gave them 4 stars because they need to incorporate more space for baby strollers. It was quite inconvenient having to move my chair back and forth so that people with baby...
