Had fish and chips for the first time from these people in Leeds market recently.
Very stingy portion for the price paid. Chips were cooked that much practically all of the moisture had been cooked out of them and they were just cardboard. No flavour either.
Fish and batter tasted OK but portion was tiny which seemed to have more batter than fish. What I'd class a child's or pensioners portion.
I think they were calling this 'traditional'. If that's what they think is traditional fish and chips then they've clearly got the wrong idea.
I love my fish and chips and this is one of the worst I've ever had living in Yorkshire for 25 years....

Im going to stop coming here now go e it a year or two then try it again to see if the quality...
Read moreIve bought fish and chips from Fisherman's Wife for years (as far back as to when it was called Gravely's) and they have always been delicious. However, since the relocation to inside the market, standards have dropped somewhat. The food I bought today was definitely substandard. The chips were dry and obviously re-cooked, perhaps from the day before. To pay full price for something that is essentially warmed up is unforgivable. The fish was also dry and disappointing. I'll think twice about going there again as there are MUCH better fish and chips in Leeds...
