Excellent food and wine very nice ambience well worth a visit, haven't been in three years as the place went a bit downhill but thankfully Carlos of judges has come into the fold and turned the place around. I went today with my mum&brother and sat by the open doors which was lovely,.me and my brother went for the octopus which was very delicious and melted in the mouth with a slight hint of salt in the aftertaste, my mum went for crab and prawns which she said was delicious .For mains my mum had roast lamb and my brother went for roast beef both of which had large portions, I myself had the veal chop which was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth the wine was nice as well. Overall a very pleasant experience and afternoon out will definitely be returning by the end of the month.

Restaurant located on Winchmore Hill green, near the train station. Nice decor and ambience with lots of soft furnishings and fabrics which really helps to reduce noise. The tables weren't jammed together, again a nice touch. The service was only ok - we had to wait a long time for our starters (admittedly we were a large group BUT we had pre-ordered several weeks in advance. The food was overall ok, some dishes excellent and others average. I really enjoyed the brie tart starter but was disappointed with the sea bass main as it was a bit dry and a bit thin. A nice local. I will be back to try other dishes!

I visited Buckle and Vaughan for the first time on Saturday night for my birthday. Our party arrived separately and there must have been some confusion over the booking as for some reason we were sat at two different tables, but we soon found each other! The food selection was great, if slightly overpriced, although every single one of us loved what we ordered and that’s very rare when you eat out with a group. Their cocktail menu was also incredible and they were really well made. Although I felt the food was expensive I am happy to pay for a good quality meal, and I would definitely visit again.

Revisited second week in Feb 2022. Specifically booked for steak night Thursday having checked their website for details. Only alacarte menu offered up at the table and when questioned they advised no longer doing steak nights. Very disappointing. None the less they honoured the steak night deal with more limited options so that was acceptable. However they failed to bring cocktails which we ordered, and we gave up on that as they brought us our wine instead. Another disappointment was the taxi cab service, Greenfox, they use which sent a transit van! Also was told to wait in restaurant as cab driver would come and collect. After a 20 mins wait I ventured out of restaurant and approached a number of other cabs waiting, but headed back to restaurant as they were not for me. The driver of the van jumped out and called out to me saying he had been trying to attract my attention and was very irritated that I had not responded. I indicated that he was in a van and how was I to know he was the taxi service. He was then quite rude and I told him that I was unwilling to ride with him. I then called an uber myself and they were absolutely amazing ... Will definitely use uber from now on!! The evening at the restaurant was therefore somewhat disappointing overall. Will give them another chance to redeem themselves, because the food is generally very good, but do check out my comments below about the roulade.

First time visit a week before Xmas, to the restaurant following a recommendation. Ambience was good considering it was lunch time, and servers were attentive but not obtrusive. Food was as good as expected apart from one of the desserts ... the roulade which frankly was inedible although it looked good on the plate. Will definitely visit again but possibly not bother with a...

We visited this local favourite which has just been refurbished and rebranded as Carlos @ B&V, opening last Thursday. It has a new menu and the food is better than ever, service (which had a few wobbles post COVID) is attentive and back to its best and the new decor is even smarter than before.

The starter menu remains seafood heavy, I enjoyed the octopus in a garlicky sauce (but only realised after ours did not come with the advertised lentils and chorizo, but good anyway). My fellow diners were impressed with the size of the giant prawns. My main was the veal chop with sage and butter which was an excellent piece of meat perfectly cooked. For dessert the apple strudel was outstanding. I look forward to returning and trying some different menu choices as this is all exceptional cooking.

A word about wines. White wine by the glass was OK, and there is a good range of wines by the bottle going up to some quite fancy wines and fancy prices. My one gripe is if you are offering wines at £50 a bottle and upwards you really should be stating the vintages you are offering to help an informed choice. The bottle of Saint Emilion I ordered turned out to be from the excellent 2016 vintage and was a brilliant wine for its £50 restaurant price. I would hope they once again offer some dessert wines by the glass in the future.

Atmosphere was buzzing on a busy Saturday night with a laid back modern dance sound track not too intrusive (but I would not have wanted it any louder).

There is a new website and this Googlemaps listing needs updating (in the mean time google Carlos @B&V if you need to find it). The Quandoo booking link from Googlemaps...

A bit disappointed to be honest. Food was ok but staff were not interested in their customers. I had to repeat drink orders a number of times, and go to the bar to the bar a number of times to ask again for drinks whilst the waiting staff were socialising. There were 8 people and some of our table had turned up late which did not help, but one of the chefs nodded his head in disapproval more than once which made me feel uncomfortable and to be fair I should have said something. Then only seven meals turn up and the missing one was for the person who has a 60th birthday. Not sure if he is the owner but it looked and felt like their is no leadership or desire to be a great restaurant. They did not charge for the dish that turned up late and gave 3 deserts as complimentary. ( I did not ask for this) no one made an effort and that’s why things failed. Deep down they know this and hopefully my review will help with the changes...
