Although this place looks fancy and amazing it isn't. As nice as it looks we are paying for food at the end of it all. We went for a Sunday roast it shouldn't be allowed on the menu full stop. I'll start the food review with my sons meal of fish and chips it looked amazing and he said it was amazing so you have those sorts of dishes in the bag. However myself and my husband went for the roast yuck!!!!. He had a pork belly roast. He also was lucky enough to have a few potatoes chucked in that had clearly sat under a heat lamp for the morning they were awful. He was lucky enough to get 3 or 4 carrots and at least 2 small spoonfuls of some greens, of course the only thing resembling a roast was the Yorkshire pudding. I had a vegetarian it clearly started a vegetarian they then declared it was a gluten free choice made me laugh as the even the recept clearly stated VE for you guessed it vegetarian. I had a child's plate (paid an adult price of course) I was greated with an under cooked pie, a couple of potatoes, 3 or 4 carrots and a teaspoon full of greens. Over £80 lighter we walked out and I fully regret evening paying for that awful excuse of a meal. Your also pay coke prices for a draft coke or whatever we had. The whole experience was dry literally I had to request a Yorkshire pudding because apparently a vegetarian must also require gluten free products. I also complained to a manger of whom took a full payment from us. Do not go you...
Read moreThis is a place of 2 halves. The bar area is fantastic. The staff are attentive. The cocktails I’ve been served have been amazing. If you want a decent local that has friendly welcoming faces that treat you like an actual guest. Go here. My cup is never empty, the banter is always friendly, and I would happily spend hours at the bar.
But that’s where the experience ends. DO NOT EAT HERE. I repeat. DO NOT EAT HERE. Go to the Sainsburys, or Tesco, or even KFC.
The food is bland for starters, the portions sizes are ridiculous, adult meals look like child portions and child portions…well, your kids will go hungry. Bring your own seasoning if you want the food to taste of anything other than what it was pulled out of the ground as. I would like to know if the chefs have any actual training or are they just a bunch of teens pulled off the street with no palette. You can make yourself a better breakfast, lunch, or even dinner at home for half the cost.
Pizza that doesn’t fill a plate, un-roasted potatoes and I’ve seen less grease in a McDonald’s fryer.
I have been a long time customer of the BH and seeing the food prices go up and the quality goes down. Saddens me.
This is a place with potential that is solely let down by how poor...
Read moreWe live locally and have been here a few times, we loved the atmosphere the first few visits but the service wasn’t good, except if you order at the bar for drinks only then it is quite good. In the beginning we made excuses for it knowing that Covid had an impact on new staff needing trained etc, but the food was good and made up for the poor service. However the last couple of times we’ve been for brunch/lunch and the service was very sub par and food either overcooked (burnt pizza) or undercooked (eggs). Todays Benedict had only one slice of bacon and the eggs had so much water in them and were way under cooked so they had to bring more. The staff didn’t know what food was available and we needed to ask 3 times just to get some water (20-30min and there was only 3 occupied tables so not busy at all) There was a manager around who looked like he knew what he was doing and was up and down sorting other tables wish he could have helped us, as he knew what was going on.
I think this location is amazing, and the food CAN be good so maybe today was a (another) bad day, but the service is constantly not good in the restaurant area and doubt we’ll return...
