Gyros Amigos — Restaurant in London

I'm Greek, I love gyros with a passion, and I've eaten them all over Greece - Kavala, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Parga, Lamia, Kalamata, too many islands to list, and the best that Athens has to offer. These guys may not be authentic Greek, but they are absolutely legit. The photos I took of our food don't do it justice so I'll do better next time, but my family (Greek wife and son) were very happy with their Mexican dishes (chicken quesadilla / chicken rice bowl), while I was truly and pleasantly surprised by my pork gyro. Full of flavour is an understatement and even my anti-pork gyro wife tried it and really liked it. Perfectly seasoned, proper Greek pita, freshly made sauces and...yeah...it didn't last very long. My only, very picky gyro snob issue was the meat being really lean, and I do like my gyros to be juicer, but I'm not complaining - we will be back. Without the Mythos, the bill would have been £27+ and, while not cheap, it did seem like value for money. The Amigos' food prep was reassuringly clean and tidy, the music positively Latino, and I hope they make this a real success.

Food was okay but not thing to wow about got the chicken and beef shawarma. Chicken one had no flavouring were as the beef seemed to have that bit more flavouring. A garlic mayo and maybe some chilli sauce would have been great to add the punch of flavour that it was lacking. I also ordered churros which were forgotten to begin with but was not a problem as there were a few people in store and only one worker understand to go a miss.Unfortunately the churros were a very big disappointment as a massive lover of churros I was given the wrong sauce (chocolate) when I had asked for caramel so could eat them and when I gave them to my sister to eat they were extremely under cooked. It’s a shame as I had really high hopes and not being able to eat something you ordered and paid for is slightly annoying. Maybe I will go back to try the gyro again as see there is good reviews but had picked the shawarma as the waiter said it was...

My wife and I ordered a take away including two burritos from Gyros Amigos on June 19. The staff that helped us were very helpful and polite. They had no problem excluding the cheese and salsa from our order. They completed the order quickly. When we got home, we found that there was only one burrito in the bag. We called the restaurant and told them what had happened. They remembered us and had no problem making us the missing burrito at no additional charge. They also made the extra effort of taking our address and delivered the missing item to our home. They even called us when they arrived at our address. This service was outstanding!
