The King Edward is a pub that offers a delightful experience with its wide selection of drinks and friendly staff. The pub not only provides indoor seating but also offers the option to enjoy the outdoors with its outdoor seating area and a small garden at the back. While I didn't have the opportunity to try their Sunday roast, it's worth noting that King Edward offers this traditional meal, which is often a favourite among pub-goers.
One aspect that sets The King Edward apart is its entertainment offerings. Over the weekends, the pub livens up with karaoke sessions and live music performances, providing a fun and engaging atmosphere for patrons. Whether you enjoy singing your heart out or simply appreciate the energy of live music, these events contribute to an enjoyable experience at the pub.
The staff members at The King Edward are friendly and welcoming, creating a comfortable environment for guests. They are attentive and readily available to assist with any inquiries or requests. Their warm and accommodating nature adds to the overall positive impression of the pub.
In terms of drink selection, King Edward does not disappoint. With a good variety of beverages available, including beers, spirits, and other popular choices, there is something to suit every taste. Whether you prefer a refreshing pint or a crafted cocktail, you're likely to find a drink that satisfies your cravings.
Overall, King Edward offers a pleasant pub experience with its friendly staff, great drink selection, and outdoor seating area. The option to enjoy a Sunday roast, along with the added entertainment of karaoke and live music, makes it a versatile choice for a casual hangout or a lively night out.
Additionally, it's important to mention that King Edward tends to get quite busy during West Ham United games. As fans gather at the pub before heading to the stadium, the atmosphere becomes even more lively and spirited. If you're a football enthusiast or enjoy the buzz of pre-match excitement, visiting The King Edward on match days can be a fantastic experience. It's an opportunity to join fellow fans, engage in spirited discussions, and soak up the enthusiastic atmosphere before cheering...
Read moreTo say I am disappointed was an understatement. I phoned days in advance for my wife's 30th birthday meal (a surprise for her), booking a simple table for 9. Apparently booking over the phone meant nothing as when my guest arrived before we did, to find that no tables were booked under my name. Nightmare to hear that when we were minutes from arriving!
Thankfully one of my guest managed to nab a table to fit 8, tight but we can make do as it's the eleventh hour of the plan and changing it on a Friday evening is just playing Russian roulette.
Already in my bad books, at least all my guest arrived safely. We ordered the meals at the counter, got our drinks and were merry. Maybe the food will redeem this shoddy ordeal.
Apparently not. 7 order of a variety of Burgers from their menu, the waitress had to guess what she was serving us. We had to play detective to confirm which is whose. The other 2 dishes of simple hotdog had an accident, meant it was delayed a further 20mins whilst everyone else finished their burger.
If it wasn't for my company being great and it being my wife's birthday, I'd have made a big scene for such an awful evening.
That one star was only for their final attempt at redemption with a bottle of prosecco and glass when they served up the birthday cake we brought. Finally something right... Only for them to completely forget a cake knife or serving napkins.
Call my scenario a one off, but it's a big f.up that means none of my guest nor us will ever visit again. Pity, because they had great reviews.
Whomever answer my call, on that shift (in the photo screenshot) You ruined a simple reservation request for an important birthday meal and unfortunately, no one else managed to make it any...

Update. - NO CASH TAKEN
28 August 2023: The Place has gone down even worse!
My mate ordered half a Guinness and pint of Larger = £7.50. I have visited this Pub about 8 times this year. Imagine our surprise when the Bar Man said NO CASH.
He then told me this has been in place since Covid, that was a Bare Faced Lie.
We put our money back in our pockets and left the Drinks on the Bar then went to Weatherspoon's around the corner.
Same drinks = £4.70 and they take cash.
April: Avoid.
The service is poor on one occasion me and my family had to wait 96 minutes for our order!
Last Friday, we were offered a Mexican menu whereby the bar maid had a long list of things that were not on the menu!
Yet again another long wait of the four diners 3 eventually were served their meals, the Boy who had simply ordered a desert (Sticky Toffee) had to continue waiting for his food and watching us eat ours. When it did arrive it was poor quality. Our chips looked like they came out of a Sainsbury's frozen bag.
However, the worst is the Bloke who holds Court at the bar F- ing and Blinding in a loud voice. On three occasions now I have politely ask him to refrain shouting out swear words in front of my Children and he not only ignored it but had to others join in.
He is from the East , but not an Easr Ender. From a cultural point of view Cockneys were and have never been like that.
The Staff are indifferent to the behaviour. Standards have dropped. After 40 years the area and people that made that pub such a great place...
