L'oasi — Restaurant in London

We decided to go to this pizzeria because in the past we always had delicious pizzas and very fast delivery time. This time we decided to eat in as we had a two hour journey ahead of us to go to Oxfordshire and thought that pizza would be the fastest option. When we arrived at the pizzeria we were the only customers there at the time and we ordered our pizzas. 15 minutes after sitting down and having four people who arrived after us served with their pizzas ahead of us we were told that our order had been mixed up and that our pizzas were given to someone else. We were then told we would receive our pizzas in five minutes. 10 -15 mins later we asked when we would receive our pizzas and were told by the chef that it was not ready yet and that he would put it in the oven quickly. We requested a refund and said that we would leave as we had a two hour journey ahead of us and were told in an aggressive tone that our pizza would be ready soon. We were then told that there was an emergency and that the person cooking was not the actual chef. The person cooking did not just lack cooking skills (The calzone dough was chewy , half the size it used to be a year ago, and with minimal fillings, and the Calabrese crust had a hint of burnt taste on one side and was not cooked completely), he also lacked customer skills. He never once apologised and was very short and arrogant with us. He was clearly struggling with keeping up with orders from take away customer as there two delivery drivers who were there for 25 mins at least …probably longer as they were still there by the time we left. We can appreciate that emergencies do happen at times however it would’ve been polite and appropriate to communicate the situation in advance so that we were not waiting like lemons for 35 minutes for a pizza that takes less than eight minutes to cook. There was no offer of a discount, or anything else for the inconvenience All in all a real let down let. Needless to say we’ll never visit this pizzeria again. From one person who happens to work in customer service so understands and expects at least a basic level of customer service in food establishments and one who happens to be an Italian who loves pizza. Although I'm fortunate to live less than a minute's walk from Loasi, I chose to make an online order for delivery to take advantage of the 20% discount promo.

My Imperiale arrived with the right balance of crisp yet chewy crust which was light yet substantial and worked well together with the rather weak tasting truffle oil. I would have liked the parma ham to have been torn up more because it gets denser in the stone oven and loses subtlety. But it was a tasty pizza and I ate it all as I did with my cannolo which, even though I have visited Italy, I believe is my first one. The wafer was tougher than expected but this was 10 pm so I accepted that it was made earlier. Let's face it - this place is about the pizza.

About the delivery. It arrived without the cannolo so rider had to go back and get it while I waited there in pyjamas holding pizza - which we all know waits for no man. Luckily my pizza didn't get too cold but I had to rush to eat it. Good job I didn't live further away.

We have been ordering from this place for quite some time and mostly we were very happy with the service provided over the phone and the quality of food. Unfortunately last time we wanted to get something nice for dinner we were very disappointed and treated with complete lack of respect and professionalism. We waited for the food nearly 2 hours which is silly as we live 20 minutes from the pizzeria. When it finally arrived it wasn't our order. I called up the restaurant and was told everything will be exchanged and apologies were given. After about 25 minutes I called again as I was expecting new food delivery I think it was the manager who I spoke with and he said I got what I have ordered, called me a lady all the time, rising the tone of his voice. I was told I'm always complaining and making problems even though I was trying to get what I ordered and not what someone made by mistake making my pay for it. That was the last time I have ordered from them as I cannot by insulted and called a lier.
