We went to Mamma Dough's (Peckham) for my birthday last month. It used to be one of our favourite local restaurants, and I would have expected to give it 5 stars. We were disappointed. We were disturbed by loud, intrusive music throughout, although we'd asked for it to be turned down. The volume cannot have been at the request of other customers - it was early evening and almost empty. We asked to swap ingredients on our pizzas, but when the bill came, the price was just the standard plus the new ingredients with nothing taken off for the toppings supposedly swapped. Wrong, and wrong not to warn us. Service was added to the bill before we'd had a chance to consider it - and 12.5% was excessive: that would have required outstanding service. In fact the service was mediocre. The olives we'd asked for with our drinks, before eating, never arrived. No apology or explanation. Yet the restaurant was extremely quiet and staff not stretched. Lastly, the bottom of my pizza was burnt in places. I do not want to eat burnt pizza dough.
