Miranda cafe is in Crouch End and on Ubereats.
Miranda's Okonomiyaki £14.95
Japanese-style vegetable savoury pancakes, house BBQ chili sauce, garlic mayo, spring onions.
I had this for breakfast as a takeaway. I decanted it onto a plate because it was so pretty it deserved not to be eaten out of the cardboard container.
It was a pancake packed with very thinly sliced and well cooked veg. Topped with vegan scrambled tofu egg which had such a perfect soft fluffy texture to compliment the soft pancake. The sweet sauce on top was a light drizzle so it was just a hint.
The little slices of radish and spring onion gave it a strong kind of spicy hit. I love this as it allows you to still taste all the different flavours without the dreaded mask of raw chilli that vegan places keep favouring as a cop out to good tasting food. This was quite complex tasting with the mix of sweet/ spicy/savoury/creamy from mayo so it was interesting to eat.
I'd almost go so far as to say this is a better hangover breakfast than a normal English fry up...
The Tiramisu was never going to make it to a plate. Just the smell from opening the lid was enough to know I had to eat it immediately. This is a top tier tiramisu cake! A little drier than the Tiramisu in a pot but it is a cake. The cake was properly soaked in flavour, the cream was fresh tasting and decadent. It was sweet but not at all sickly. I want another slice just writing this.
What a breakfast!
(Bonus points for them serving all day breakfast because it is 1pm)

Read moreMiranda's Cafe, in its overambitious attempt to craft a Latin breakfast, aims to emulate the beauty of a Shakespearean sonnet, but instead evokes the despair of Shakespearean tragedy. The meal, devoid of flavor and originality, seems more akin to a dull soliloquy than a vibrant culinary performance. The arepas and eggs, rather than engaging in a dynamic interplay of textures, present a bland tableau, reminiscent of a scene without emotion or depth. The ambiance, aspiring to captivate, instead mirrors the empty theatrics of a poorly staged play. In a city where breakfast can be as compelling as a well-crafted sonnet, Miranda's Cafe delivers a forgettable performance, a breakfast so lacking in spirit it would barely stir the ghost of Hamlet's father.
The cafe's attempt at fresh juice ends up more a jest than a jewel, an overpriced endeavor that might leave Shakespeare himself bemused at its audacity. It's a lukewarm offering in a play already full of missed cues.
In this setting, the service stands out for its effort, with a server displaying a modest touch of friendliness amidst the culinary chaos. This gesture, though appreciated, struggles to cast a redeeming light on the morning's disappointing performance, leaving the overall experience still in the shadows of...
Read moreWhat a wonderful place. Firstly the service was amazing, we and our large dog were welcomed with open arms. We noticed a few of the tables were booked so looks like you can ensure your spot too. It was a cold day so we had the Rose and the Biscoff latte... wow! Really nice to have different options than the normal matcha late you get everywhere nowadays and they can serve most of them cold too! We had the Latin breakfast, and it looked so good we both tucked in before taking a pic! So surprised to see genuinel arepas available 😍, EVERYTHING tastes so good, it all has that extra seasoning.... I cant describe it, you just have to try it. Also the guacamole!!! It was so good!!! We had desserts too, the american pancakes were lovely (though a little sweet too sweet for us). I'm not vegetarian and absolutely loved everything, the only thing I didn't love was the cream on the tiramisu, but my friend who is vegetarian loved it (literally took it from my plate hahaha). So glad I got the takeaway coffee, if you love coffee... I take mine black no sugar no milk and it was so good! Can't wait to go back! Also special shout out to the waitress, I'm sorry I can't remember her name (Venezuelan lady) thank you so much for the amazing customer service. Hope to see her again...
