Restaurant Review: Rosso Pomodoro, Central London
If you’re in central London and craving authentic Italian cuisine, look no further than Rosso Pomodoro. This hidden gem offers a delightful dining experience that captures the essence of Italy right in the heart of the city.
From the moment I stepped in, the warm ambiance and rustic decor set the perfect tone. The inviting aroma of fresh herbs and baked bread whetted my appetite, promising an extraordinary meal ahead.
The menu is a celebration of traditional Italian flavors, featuring a variety of pizzas, pastas, and delectable desserts. I opted for the Margherita pizza, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The thin, crispy crust was topped with fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and fragrant basil—each bite was a slice of perfection.
What truly elevated my experience, however, was the service. My waitress, Anisa, was an absolute delight. Her warmth and genuine enthusiasm made me feel right at home. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering fantastic recommendations and ensuring my dining experience was flawless. Anisa’s attention to detail and personal touches truly made it the best service I’ve ever had.
To finish off my meal, I indulged in their tiramisu, which was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of coffee flavor. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.
Overall, Rosso Pomodoro is a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious Italian food in London. With outstanding dishes and service that feels like a warm embrace, I can’t wait to return. Thank you, Anisa, for making my visit...
Read moreI recently visited Rossopomodoro in Covent Garden and decided to try their pizza with artichokes. While the restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, my experience was slightly mixed, though mostly enjoyable.
The pizza itself was well-made and lived up to expectations in terms of texture and authenticity. The dough was perfectly soft yet slightly crisp on the edges, and the artichokes were flavorful and fresh, adding a lovely earthy depth to the dish. However, there was a slight hiccup with the condiments. We had specifically expected truffle mayo as an accompaniment, but instead, they served garlic mayo. This small substitution felt a bit deceptive, as though they were trying to pass it off unnoticed. While it wasn't a huge deal, it was a touch disappointing.
To their credit, our waiter was fantastic. He quickly acknowledged the mistake and offered a sincere apology, which softened the situation. His attentive and friendly service throughout the meal really elevated the experience and left a positive impression.
Another highlight was the wine selection. The wine paired beautifully with the meal, balancing the flavors of the pizza perfectly. Additionally, our seating was ideal—cozy yet spacious, with a lovely view of the vibrant Covent Garden buzz outside.
Overall, despite the small setback with the mayo, Rossopomodoro delivered a satisfying dining experience. The high-quality pizza, excellent wine, and stellar service outweighed the minor disappointment. I would certainly consider returning, though I might double-check any specialty...
Read moreClassic Italian. Service is friendly, pasta dishes were good, but everything else disappointing to insulting.
Kid meals did not get their drinks and addons (menu said +carrots, fruits, juice or water) - when I asked after we got the dishes the waiter said the “+” sign means we have to ask for them.. Thats plain con…
Kids pizza was ok. Schnitzel Milanese, was not Milanese, it was chicken, not beef, it was max 80gr of chicken, and had NO sides (you can pay extra 2 pounds for fries).. it was also insulting for 7.95 pound.
I ordered a chicken salad.. I knew not to expect much, but for 16-17 pound same price as pasta, I was expecting something slightly bigger than a starter dish of tired lettuce and max 80gr of chicken in it.. it was insulting..
When my wife told the waiter, cause I was too furious, he told her “what can we do, the salads are small”.. A Tesco express salad was bigger and cost 3 pound for the same lettuce and chicken.
So some may fall for the medeternian friendly service, it’s great to have a friendly service, but if you don’t get the food, and when you ask you don’t get proper service, what does it worth ?
Will never eat here again, and unless you like to pay alot and get little for your money, I recommend you do the same.
The only two stars are because my wife was happy with her pasta.
Maybe if you eat a pizza it’s fine. Everything else was...
