We recently had the most incredible hen-do experience at The Spaghetti House, and I just want to give a special thank you to Lara from Marketing and Daniele, the amazing chef, who made the whole day truly unforgettable.
From the very first email, Lara was an absolute gem. We had a vision for a fun, girly pasta-making class as part of our hen-do and she was with us every step of the way—helping us choose the perfect menu, being super flexible with changes, and always so kind and forthcoming. She even let us come in an hour early to decorate the space, and then helped us set up! That level of personal attention is rare and so appreciated.
And then there’s Daniele—what a star! He guided us through the class with such warmth, humour, and patience. Even when we were chatting away, taking endless photos, or generally being the lively hen-do group we are, he never once rushed us or made us feel like we were a hassle. In fact, he embraced it. We literally spent a good hour taking photos in our decorated setup, and he let us have our moment.
The class itself was effortless fun. We sipped our drinks, laughed, chatted, and honestly, whenever we got too distracted, Daniele would gently step in and do a bit of the work for us—without ever making it feel like we were falling behind. He has a natural gift for teaching, and I say this having done other pasta and pizza making classes before (including at Bread Ahead!). This was next-level. You could genuinely feel he wanted us to enjoy ourselves, not just learn how to cook.
To top it off, we were allowed to stay in the space after the class ended for some games because there was no booking right after, and Daniele was more than happy to let us make the most of our time. Oh, and the food? So much delicious pasta—we each left with two takeaway boxes because we couldn’t finish it all!
The class was such good value for money. You get coffee‘s & Teas, Prosecco, red wine, white wine, olives and a 3 course menu included ON TOP of the class.
Honestly, this was one of the best hen-do experiences we’ve had, and it’s all thanks to Lara and Daniele. If you’re planning something special (or just want a fantastic cooking experience), I couldn’t recommend The...
Read moreMy friends and I had dinner here recently, having never eaten at a Spaghetti house branch before. Needless to say, we will not be choosing to come back.
We were seated by a waitress as walk-in diners during what was understandably a busy Tuesday evening. Initially, we were not offered menus and waited 10mins before getting the attention of one of the staff to request for one.
Our starters took over 40mins to arrive and when they did, we had not even finished them before they were quickly taken away without any warning (or even a verbal exchange to acknowledge we had finished)! The waitress then stated they had a larger party upstairs which they were having to cater for, hence the delay in our food (surely an organisation as big as this should assign an appropriate number of staff for advanced bookings, so as to not compromise on their regular service?). We also asked for a refill on our water, which arrived after we had finished our meal.
As a result of the overall service, we requested the service charge to be removed from the bill.
I GENUINELY could not believe the level of tone we received from the waitress who did not understand why we had requested this and was questioning our intentions for doing so. She tried to blame my friends and I for accepting a seat in the restaurant when we were “told when we walked in” (not true) how busy they were and that we should have expected a lower level of service given “we didn’t even have a booking anyway”.
As customers, and a few of us having previously worked in hospitality roles in the past, we can understand the level of stress staff are under on a busy evening. However, Spaghetti house should not accept customers if they are unable to maintain a decent level of service for those they seat - this is not the fault of a customer, you need to employ more staff and train them on basic hospitality skills.
In regards to the food - very, very average. Lacked flavour and pricey for what you’re actually getting. Take your...
