I had the pleasure of visiting the Great Indian Kitchen in Brixton and I have to say, I was blown away by the incredible food and outstanding customer service! The meen pollichath and appam were absolutely delicious, and the pappadam and chutneys served as a starter were a perfect way to start the meal. The chutneys in particular were a standout - bursting with flavor and truly amazing taste. The staff, especially Chef Basith and Qalib, were extremely friendly and attentive throughout my visit, making my experience truly unforgettable. I also found the restaurant to be very cost-friendly and definitely worth every penny. If you're looking for authentic Kerala or Southeast Asian cuisine in central London, then the Great Indian Kitchen is a must-try! I highly recommend the meen pollichath and pothichor, and of course, the pappadam and chutneys. I even made a small request for the restaurant to consider opening branches in Eastham and Luton! Overall, my visit to the Great Indian Kitchen was an absolute delight, and I can't wait to come back for more. Thank you to the restaurant and the entire team for making my day wonderful! Best wishes and keep up the great work!"

Came to this place for the first time, it was relatively quiet when we first arrived. We were the first ones at the restaurant at 7pm on a Friday night. But, it filled up very quickly soon after. The staff were absolutely lovely, so so friendly. They were very helpful in suggesting dishes. This place is the freshest most authentic Indian I have had in London in a while. With lots of options of North and South Indian food. The chef in the back cooks everything fresh as soon as you order. We ordered the Fish Polichathu, which was amazing, a massive fish with lots of white meat inside, wrapped in a banana leaf. The Sauce was an amazing curry, slightly peanut flavours. Definitely recommend. The paratha was so flakey. Recommend the chicken columbo too, a yummy curry with some coconut flavours. A hidden gem!! Definitely check it out for a well priced, well portioned hot meal with amazing flavours.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Great Indian Kitchen, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. This restaurant not only delivers exquisite dishes but also boasts a team of exceptional staff and a chef who truly understands the art of culinary perfection.

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the hostess, who promptly seated us at a cozy corner table. The ambiance was inviting, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that set the stage for a delightful evening.

Our server who's happen to be the owner was an absolute gem. She was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had an infectious enthusiasm that made our dining experience even more enjoyable. She took the time to explain the specials of the day and made excellent recommendations based on our preferences. Her service was impeccable, and she made us feel like valued guests throughout our meal.

Now, let’s talk about the food. Chef Basil is a culinary genius. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The dish exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff provided exceptional service, and Chef Basil culinary creations were nothing short of spectacular. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. We can’t...

I'd seen the positive reviews here about the Keralan food and had been wanting to visit for a while...but...we were handed a menu that didn't list any of the dishes I was excited to try. There were a handful of dosas on the menu, but it was dominated by the types of dishes you see in almost every other Indian restaurant across the UK.

After asking about it we were handed an alternative menu with plenty of Keralan options not present on the other menu.

Everything we had was excellent and had all the flavours of Kerala we fondly remember from spending time there. The lamb fry was a particular highlight.

Delicious food, excellent friendly and attentive service, and very reasonable prices (we over ordered and our bill for 2 people with one beer was under £40).

The Great Indian Kitchen - please have faith in your superb Keralan food and give everyone the full menu so they have a chance to try it! Perhaps adding some descriptions so people who aren't familiar with dishes like kizhi and pothichoru will encourage people to try them (and save you the trouble of explaining everything of course).

We will definitely be back to try more...
