where do I start
The food was on point,
The menu set out is brand new and very eye-catching compared to other branches I’ve visited and ate at
With the emblazoned and recognisable Trap Kitchen logo spread out over the back side of the Big menus this leaves you to wonder what Goodies the front side of the menu contains
A broad selection of old Favourites plus a few New Surprise’s are shown on the new menu
My choice of the New Remix Baller Combo left me feeling finally satisfied about being given the option to have the best of both worlds for the traditional Baller Combos
Drinks ordered aswell left a big smile and surprise on my face the alcohol 🥃 was not spared and seeping at the bottom of my Skull face Glass are heaps of Rum topped with fruit juices that make the Classic Zombie recognisable in its new home at Trap Kitchen
But that’s not all When my food arrives I really feel spoilt for choice that I could almost cry, Beautiful Crabs legs dipped in a tasty breadcrumb batter makes for the seasoned legs a tasty and chewy treat
Creamy and well made Mac and cheese that I nearly couldn’t finish because the food made feel full after nearly every bite
The well presented crisp and fluffy waffles topped with beautiful OREO crumbs and pieces served with drizzled icing make for a one of a kind Dessert 🤤
Lobster on my plate had all the hard work done for me the crispy coated seasoned tail meat is pulled out and displayed upon topside of the shell allowing you to tuck straight in The additional Mutambo sauce made for a very spicy dip, one that’s needed especially with seafood 🦞
At one point I’m left wondering about the instructions of a NEW QR code placed on the menu showing you how to eat crabs legs without cutlery got there - Genius Idea
The Owner even came over and showed me how to in person making for my attendance and experience of the opening night one to remember
My prawns and coleslaw although missed from my initial table service were quickly remedied and brought out by the happy, cheerful and banterish staff leaving me satisfied that they do recognise Great customer service in this new venue
The upbeat Music filled with all Genres of the urban scene makes for a Great time whilst eating and drinking especially when you know some of the songs and can do sing along Vibes 😅
Overall my experience and night at TRAP KITCHEN is deserving of a 5 Full ⭐️...
Read moreHorrible customer service. There were ZERO management skills. Arrived with my family to a mismanaged queue and was told there is a 45-minute wait for a table. Fine. The staff member took my number on a bit of till receipt and god knows what he did with it normal places have a book or an A4 paper with details on it. Was told the table will be ready at 7.50 and that I would also get a call if it was ready sooner. Went and returned at 7.50 only to be waiting around for a further 10mins same staff member was surprised I returned and was enquiring about my table. Then was told to wait a further 10mins because a big group was just finishing up and paying. We saw plenty of people leaving and other people in front of us being seated. Nowhere to wait just hang around by a mismanaged queue that turned into a massive crowd at the front. Got approached by another team member 15 mins later to be told that we have to wait a further 10 mins as a big party was finishing up paying. When we told him we were told this already 20 mins ago the staff member had a lot of attitude telling us we had to wait and that things take time. Finally, after a further 10mins, we got seated in an area where no big parties were ever seated. They took my number on a piece of paper with no intention of calling me just hoping once I hear 45mins table wait I would disappear. Once seated staff were nowhere to be found to take our order only the tables with the most people got some attention. The vibes were otherwise nice. Atmosphere nice. The music is nice. The food is delicious. Very flavoursome. The drinks are delicious. We spent £180 and definitely will not be going back there again because of the atrocious service. Our server was absolutely lovely btw explained everything was very helpful. UPDATE: the option online on Instagram doesn't work properly and then when you try to contact the number it goes straight to voice mail. (This is the reason why I didn't book "online" and decided to show up) UPDATE: TO THE SILLY PERSON THAT WROTE ABOUT INSTAGRAM NOW I WROTE THE ORIGNIAL REVIEW OVER A YEAR AGO!!!!! ITS BEST YOU DO WALK INS NOW COS YOUR SYSTEM DIDNT WORK BACK...
Read moreWhat a joke. I booked a table for 2 at Trap Kitchen and can confidently say this was hardly a dining experience unless you count lasting about 5 seconds before walking out.
We were first seated on the right-hand side, where the tables were sticky and dirty. Not exactly a great start. We moved to the left side (which looked slightly better), but the girl at the front, who seemed to be the manager, came over acting confused, asking if we’d been seated there (even though she herself had put us on the other side). Then she told us the left side was closed. Fine, we politely went back.
We tried again, but the table and menus were still grimy, so we asked if it was possible to sit somewhere else, like upstairs, since we could see people up there. Her response? Abruptly telling us that’s where the owner sits. Right, because paying customers clearly don’t matter.
A booth nearby freed up, so we sat there instead. When we asked a male staff member if that was okay and said we’d like to order, instead of just taking our order, he decided to comment that we are “moving around a lot.” We explained (again politely) that the first tables were dirty. He cleaned the booth, but then came back with possibly the most unprofessional line I’ve ever heard in a restaurant: apparently we had “upset his girl colleague,” who was now “fuming” because our “tone wasn’t nice.” Completely made-up nonsense.
Then came the kicker: we were told we had two choices apologise to her or leave. Yes, apologise… for asking to sit at a clean table? I even said bring her over so we could clear it up face-to-face. Of course, she refused to come. Instead, he returned again to repeat the ultimatum: apologise or leave.
So we left. Because really, what is there to apologise for? This was not hospitality, it was a circus.
Trap Kitchen, if you want to be taken seriously, clean your restaurant, get rid of the attitude, and hire staff who actually understand what customer service means. Until then, don’t call it dining call it what it is: a...
