Went there last week just before 10pm as I was starving after travelling from London to Manchester. Asked for a halloumi wrap with fries and specifically said I didn't want the mint yoghurt sauce as it contained eggs in them. I later said to the guy working there that I didn't want any sauces in the wrap but to include ketchup on the side. He clearly didn't listen to me and included a sauce in the wrap which I wasn't sure of. When I opened the wrap, saw the sauce, I no longer felt hungry as I specifically asked for no sauce. Went back there to try and ask them to make me another wrap but apparently the restaurant and the kitchen was closed. I left the wrap on the counter to show the guy who initially served me so he can look at the sauce that was in there. He went in with his bare hands, touched the wrap, opened it for me and showed me that the sauce was just ketchup, which I should have been fine with. Then he had the audacity to imply that the wrap is fine to eat, after he touched it with his bare hands (very unhygienic!) 🤢🤮 this made me want to throw up! He didn't even ask if he could open the wrap, nor asked me to open it for him, nor used gloves (which would have been ideal), he just opened the wrap with his bare hand! I then said I couldn't eat the wrap, even if it only had ketchup in there, the fact that he used his bare hands to open the wrap was disgusting! I asked if they could make another wrap to which they replied unfortunately the kitchen is already closed so I was left with no dinner that day, although I did ask for a refund and he gave it to me reluctantly. This place is not hygienic at all. Needs to be reported and I would never go...
Read moreI've tried several items here over the years, and have come to the conclusion that the avocado and halloumi breakfast muffin is their only good item, which is legitimately fantastic - and the reason this is a 2-star review, not a 1-star.
But every now and again I try something new, to be different. Every time I'm disappointed. Their rice boxes at lunch are dull and flavourless, the chicken dry. The bacon and egg breakfast muffin with spiced mango ketchup this morning is the single worst thing I've tried to eat in years, and the reason I had to leave a review today. The egg was like a piece of rubber, and the mango ketchup like a sweet curry sauce. It was a rubber and curry breakfast roll. A spicy car tyre in sourdough. I can't stand food waste, for the moral and financial reasons, but I threw away more than half of it, and can't even feel guilty about it. Just awful.
Some alterations on classic items are worth a try. Spicy mango in a bacon and egg roll is not one of them.
I'll keep coming here for the avocado and halloumi muffin fix - the sourdough muffin IS good - but that's it. Lesson learned. There's nothing else on the menu worth...
Read moreThe first and last time I’ll ever order from Leon.
I was so excited to try out Leon and I decided to have this as the last meal before it was my birthday.
Big mistake
The food took nearly an hour to get here, when it is a 10 minute walk. The ‘loaded fries’ were cold and tasted stale. The vegan sauce was rank.
I’m extremely disappointed by this and would have rather not eaten.
Was so excited to try out the rice box. One word to describe it, disappointing. When I opened the box it looked as if someone had eaten a third of it, the chicken breast was so small it was ridiculous. The rice was disgusting and felt as if you had food stuck in your teeth. I took three mouthfuls and had to throw the food away, the supposedly loaded fries wasn’t salvageable so that went too.
Plus the dip had opened up and spilt in the bag.
If you want to enjoy your takeaway don’t buy from Leon especially not...
