We attended on Saturday and The Oompah show was great and enjoyed by all. However the service from the staff within our table area could have been better. We were spoken to rather aggressively when we pointed out that drinks were missing from our order (this had been preordered and confirmed by email). A server came over with a receipt which did not match up with what was pre-ordered (I was spoken to quite abruptly and it felt like they were making out the error was our own - the whole situation was quite patronising). Once they saw the pre-order was correct and the error was their own it was rectified and we were offered an apology but the situation could have initially been handled in a more polite and professional manner. This seemed to be a recurring theme across the night as the staff looked miserable and annoyed when they were asked to serve or help clean up any spillages - one particular member of staff had a face of thunder and rolled her eyes whenever she was asked to do something or was struggling to get through the gaps between the tables - a simple ''excuse me' would have sufficed instead of pushing my friends out of the way and spilling steins down our clothing as I know the gaps were tight. I understand it was busy and its a fast-paced environment but customer service is about ensuring the customers have a positive experience (not intimidated whenever they request something) and there should be some standard of professionalism. I thoroughly enjoyed the show but unfortunately the service would put me off...
Read moreI've been here a few times. The decor and atmosphere are unlike anything I've known before. I don't know enough to be able to vouch for Bavarian authenticity but what I have seen I like.
My friend and I were musing on the beer taps on the tables, and how that system might work. We never did work it out but it just added to the quirkiness of the place.
Upstairs is cosy and intimate for smaller groups. Downstairs is absolutely vast. It's ideal for work nights out or any larger group. Drink is reasonably priced and all in all, it's a great place to be.
The main downside is that there is no mobile reception at all downstairs. This means that, unless everything has been pre-arranged for a meet, there will be numerous trips upstairs to communicate with other members of your party. It's unfortunate that this is just a result of the layout of the building, and there isn't much that can be done about it.
The above point would have lost the venue one star but the raw hamburgers that were piled up on the floor outside the ladies' loos last time I was there was a complete turn-off. I don't know whether they were for the bin or whether they were to be cooked and served but I don't think I'll ever be eating there.
By all means go, and have a great time. Perhaps just be wary...
Read moreI organised this night/event for myself and my group of friends as one of us is going travelling and we were using this night as a send off.
The event is advertised on the website and on email confirmations when booking that the doors open at 8:45pm, when we arrived at this time we were then told to leave the room in which the event takes place as it wasn't ready, we asked how long it would be until it opened to which we rudely got a response of "its ready when its ready" and my friends got physically shood out the door - 40minutes later we were then allowed into the room to then all be given disgust tasting watered down cocktails and dry stale pretzels.
Secondly, the event is advertised as an interactive session with an ommpah band and lots of games, what an absolute lie this has been advertised as? The band was just a duo singing chart hits and there were absolutely interactive games played the whole time. Nothing as described on socials, website and in the confirmation email.
This is the first time for alot of us out of my friendship group which we have been to the bierkeller and confirm we will not be returning again.
Do not waste your time or money booking on the "livebierkeller events" as it as complete shambles and disappointment and is nothing...
