We booked into Shutters at The Godolphin for afternoon tea whilst we were in the area on holiday. The restaurant has an amazing view and even on a slightly wet day with the doors closed, the panoramic sea view was lovely. Inside a lot of thought and investment has obviously gone into the design and style of the space and it’s a nice place to be. It’s brilliant that they are both child and dog friendly, and meant we could be willing customers. The afternoon team came with a good selection of savoury and sweet treats that we all enjoyed. It all comes at a above average price, but just occasionally it’s worth it for something a little bit special.

Professional and very friendly bar and waiting staff / maitre d’. Fantastic views, but nice atmosphere and decor at the non-window tables too. The food is imaginative and beautifully presented. Recommend 4-5 sharing plates/starters rather than a main (two people) The steak was beautiful but we thought over-priced. It’s locally sourced and perfectly cooked, but I think we were wowed by the sharing plates, and a steak is….. steak. Otherwise, all very well priced presented and delicious. It’s very dog friendly, so we loved watching other people’s dogs (we don’t have one.) Looking forward to returning. Again, full marks to every member of staff.

Had soup and coffee. When the soup came, it was with two scraps of bread, one each (see photo). We asked for more and the waitress said it was limited to one piece each and we would have to pay for more. Having already paid £9 each for the soup and a scrap of bread, we didn't bother. How much more would another piece of bread each cost them? There was no butter with it - it came free, when we asked, but no knife. We also asked for some sugar for the coffee which never came so we got some from another table. When I went to pay, I asked how much we would have been charged for extra bread and the person serving said they wouldn't have charged for it. It wasn't very nice bread anyway, though the soup was delicious. I think you pay for the superb view here but we won't be going back in a hurry for food. The coffee was nice enough.

Dined here back in June and unfortunately....had food poisoning. Worst night/next day of my life. However, was contacted by the restaurant and invited back as a complimentary dine in. With much hesitation, husband convinced me to give it a go...just don't order the Hot Shells! Lol And the second time around...it wasn't bad but it also wasn't "outstanding". It was basic food, high priced and low on taste. And I don't have a budget on dining out so that says a lot. Dessert was great to look at but passed it to my husband. Fish was bland and soggy and the only saving grace was...the alcohol. Not included BTW so...goes to show, even free food can be overrated Great drinks but staff could've been a bit friendlier considering...but definitely not a place I'd return to again. Complimentary or not.

A clean restaurant with very good views of St. Michael Mount. Stopped by in the afternoon and made early evening dinner reservations the manager worked with us for a window table for 5pm. Asking us to come back for 4:45 we made sure we were there for 4:30 but found the table was given away. After explaining to the then manager on duty what earlier manager had arranged with our reservations here for an evening meal, they were able to seat us in the bay window. A nice meal but the prices are definitely higher than average. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive.

Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, was abit surprised that there was only one vegan option which was a roast on a Sunday or fries. £20 for a roast is quite expensive but the quality was there, so worth every penny, The staff looked tidy & presentable. The only thing I’d say is the waitress took along time to take the order. We had to be somewhere after and we were worried about time. My family & friends had the burger & it only came with fries, would be good to see some salad as was one small burger & fries. Overall nice place, very clean & nice atmosphere.
