Synge & Byrne Abbey Centre — Restaurant in Northern Ireland

Visited Abbey Centre and chose Synge n Byrne for brunch. Samir (I hope I’ve spelt his name correctly) and then Patrick were our points of contact. Both were very personable and really friendly. Paid for our brunch. As we waited I watch as Patrick prepared our brunch. I watched as he took such care and pride in the presentation, I was amazed at the prideyy he put into a breakfast bagel and eggs on toast. Both these lads are a real bonus for your company, as we ate ours they were so professional Visited Abbey Centre and chose yourselves for brunch. Went on Monday thinking it would be a nice healthy treat.. boy was I wrong, asked for sandwiches to which the woman finished what she was doing then turned her back on us.. she was in and out of the microwave and it took us a bit to realise what she was doing.. the woman on the counter was defrosting our bread in the microwave in-front of us, and to make it worse she didn’t even put it on a plate it was just threw into the microwave, stopping to touch it and to flip it and put it back in… we didn’t even wait to see how the bread would have turned out.. horrified to see that. I understand most places freeze bread but to have it microwaved and poked to see if it was defrosted is not...

Brilliant coffee and food. I'm always happy to order whatever is on their board as it's always so good! The salads are always beautifully fresh and delicious (I'm really not much of a salad person so need all the encouragement I can get!). The decor is tasteful and subtle... Seats are comfy and the tables big enough for your food (unlike some big chain coffee shop whose tables are barely big enough for your mugs!) Pricing is excellent value for money and quality and sometimes they have deals on e.g. Food/meal +drink =free slice of cake 😋 but staff always advise...
