A Flavor Explosion Worth Every Penny! If you're looking for a meal that delivers a little bit of everything-then The Fleet is your spot! I kicked off my feast with the Build Your Board and I must say, customizing it was a game-changer. The spicy waffle chicken goujons with ketchup, and loaded nachos (with just the right amount of jalapeños) had me hooked from the first bite. At £11.99, I was basically living my best foodie life! The Spanish ham croquettes? Soft, golden, and utterly tasty-like little bites of heaven. As for the spicy chicken burger, it didn't pack the heat I was expecting, but the flavor was on point, especially paired with crispy chips and a free drink to wash it all down. Oh, and let's not forget the crazy chicken bacon burger, which was as tasty as it sounds, proving once again that bacon makes everything better. From top to bottom, every dish was a crowd-pleaser. For variety, flavor, and all the right kinds of indulgence The Fleet has earned a...
Read moreI ordered fish and chips and I thought the fish was completely tasteless (which is not how a fish should taste like imo) so I went to speak to someone about possibly getting it replaced by something else and I found the manager incredibly rude. When I told her the same I told the other employee she informed me that it was pollock, a fish that does not have a lot of taste so I should have upgraded to a cod and that nobody had complained about the fish so they could not change it just for me. A quick check of the menu afterwards confirmed to me that nowhere on the menu was specified that the battered fish was pollock and a quick search on Google told me that pollock and cod are essentially very similar and pollock is meant to have a strong taste. Extremely appalled at the way I was spoken to and how no attempt to make the meal enjoyable for me was made as "just because you don't like it doesn't mean we can do anything about it". Will...
Read moreIn its current dingy form with dark paint and too many big screens showing irrelevant sport (that most customers show no interest in) it feels like a hollow and soulless void rather than a spacious and salubrious venue. Staff are very helpful and friendly, menu involves the usual burgers and chips, which are always tasty. With a little redecoration & thought this place could be outstanding.
Update May 2022: After a timely redecoration it looks barely any different. The staff are still lovely. It's faster to order from the table-service app than to go to the bar, where inexplicably, there is an orderly queue rather than the usual British style where punters all approach the bar, take turns to order and talk to each other ).
Update May 2023: much the same. Tonight irrelevant sportsball played whilst a man with a too-quiet guitar tried to entertain people who'd gone there to talk. It's a pub with no...
