Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue. You know food is good for you when it, in its unprocessed state, covers the full spectrum of the colour chart. Rouhi Persian Cuisine feels traditional, not in the foreign Persian sensibility, in that Birmingham Indian eatery sense. This is thanks to the layout of the restaurant. Walk through the entrance, into the reception area. Walk up a couple of steps, you're in the main restaurant and bar area. In this dimly lit space there are flashes of traditional Iranian art work, but not enough to teleport the senses of the custodian to the far reached of the Persian state. It is comfortable inside. Tables are well proportioned. Seating is decorative. Service is perfect, relaxed, perceptive and liberal. I could have ordered ordered everything on the menu, without warning from the waiter. Be warned, just a couple of light starters and breads are enough to satisfy you and your family's appetite. In retrospect, I should have ordered just a main, the Barberry Rice with Chicken. It included the complete dietary requirements for a small group of people in one tray. Rice, chicken, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, fruit, curry sauce... Food was tasty. It would have been great to have freshly cooked nans, but I can't complain about the quality hot dishes. The rice and chicken of the main course were sensational. Fruity and succulent respectively. Rouhi offers dishes at an excellent price point, you get large portions and a wide variety of foods for your money. I would recommend fasting for a few days before you take on the Rouhi main course challenge.

In this pandemic it was rather difficult to find a place that was offering outdoor terraced dining. Rouhi was one of the very few restaurants that was able to accommodate our group of 10 travellers. We were impressed from the moment we walked in as the hospitality that was extended to us was praise worthy. Mori, our host, left no stone unturned to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. As we were fasting we were looking forward to what was on the menu for iftar. The menu looked inviting and Mori assisted us choose some of our dishes. Every dish we tried was truly authentic and tasty. It was my second time trying Persian cuisine and I was truly blown away with the presentation, taste and the beautiful ambience. Mori made sure we were happy with everything and even surprised us with a complimentary platter of goodies. If you're around Birmingham, be sure to give this place a try, you won't be disappointed! Bon appetite ❤

The food was amazing. Some of the dishes were spectacular. The Restaurant is clean and welcoming with excellent service We were given bowls of Ash reshteh on the house. Lovely soup Had a selection of cold and hot starters including falafel, aubergine, spinach, yoghurt dip, all were on point. Saffron Mushroom was not the best but tastes good enough. The main was grills and chicken pomegranate both tastes amazing. Excellent experience The dough drink on last menu page was tangy, fizzy and refreshing they freshly made this for us. Alot of food.. WINNER 🏆 here so would visit again if feeling Persian food. Possibly best one in Birmingham.

I travel a lot for my job and visit many restaurants, specially persian restaurants. This place by far one of the best places I've had the experience of dining in. I still remember the first time I ate at this place just before covid, the service and the food have always been spot-on 👌🏻🤩 Really friendly staff, sparkly clean cutlery and dishes, clean bathroom, and of course the food was out of this world. Tonight, I ordered a platter of mezzeh, the mix grill for myself and my friend Anthony (his first ever persian food experience), and ghormesabzi for his wife, and OMG, were they not for a treat, first of all the kashke bademjan and the Olivieh were to die for, it was eaten in matter of seconds 🤤😋 then we had a couple of cocktails from their special drinks menu, saffron gin and saffron vodka and a glass of shiraz for Christine, and by the time the food arrived, (apx 20 mins) we were ready for some delicious food and roohi never disappoints. It was plenty of food, presented in a very delicate authentic style with a fantastic presentation. Christine made sure she takes some good old photos lol. 📸 But we couldn't wait much longer and stock in. The owner came to check on us after a few mins to see if everything was ok. She was so lovely and they even treated us to some shole zard which is a traditional persian dessert made with rice and saffron (as usual haha😂) plenty of saffron which you could really taste it and see the beautiful orangy gold colour of saffron in it. Overall it was a great experience and we took some of our food for takeaway (Anthony and Christine took it all) 😅 Anyway, I only write reviews when I have a memorable experience and tonight was definitely one of them. So glad I chose this place, plus free parking, what else could we ask for? Thank you Roohi...

Probably one of the best restaurants i have ever visited!! I do eat out a lot and do love exploring new cuisines, hands down this restaurant been the best so far.

Restaurant itself is super tidy and clean, toilets were absolutely clean and smelled really nice.

Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The young lady who worked there she was very well trained, and knew the menu very well she helped us pick few different dishes to get the taste of of everything. And gave us a very nice cocktail on the house which it was very nice of her! Always appreciate a free cocktail :))

And the food, I can’t say enough how tasty this food was, not going to lie since I visited this restaurant for the first time i fall in love with the food. Meats are so juicy and full of taste. The word amazing can’t even express how good the food was!

Also The owner of the restaurant he’s such an amazing gentleman i could see him on the restaurant floor making sure all customers are happy and he was on top of everything.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant if you want to try one of the best Iranian restaurant in England do give them a try! As I mentioned earlier i have tried so many different Persians cuisines but this one hit me in a different way!! You wont be...
