Going to keep it short Ginger guy at the door was polite and friendly he was making tables up as well as greeting guests working hard for his money . A gentle in a suit jacket running a found serving again friendly polite . That's were the good comments finish the rest of the front of house staff look miserable Whilst waiting for a table at the bar I don't think its appropriate for bar staff to be discussing customers and being rude passing comments about there choice of drink or looks the only one not involved behind the bar was a blonde lady long hair platted in pigtails she was trying to do her job . Should the bar staff have a iPad on the back of the bar facing customers watching football Do you have the broadcast rights for the football ! The area for customers to wait is very crowded I thought it was busy but looking around tables were not being cleared in a timly manor . The service well on the table we was missing knifes had forks also missing viniger and the cutlery/table items were spread out all over the place I assume this was another customer when the waitress arrived/walked past i had to say excuse me to get any attention there was no introduction the greeting started " what can I get you " a greating like welcome to Franky and Benny's my names would have been nice . I asked for some cutlery and we placed our order starters and main When they arrived some 30 min later my wife had ordered a prawn cocktail we could see it sitting on the counter for 20min as my starter was potato skins had to be cooked should customers food be left sitting in the public areas ? The waitress did not bring the missing cuttlery I asked again and wiped the table down and reorganized the mess as our food arrived cutlery arrived now my wife asked for a bread roll to go with her prawn cocktail and as £6 is a lot for two bits of lettuce and 6 prawns with a bit of sauce ! Waitress said when asked for the bread roll "there busy in the kitchen" and walked off . I don't want to be rude but I am the paying customer and if your kitchen is busy that is not my concern . The waitress cleared the table of the starters Not a word spoken . When our mains arrived some 15 minutes later the meals were mixed up no issue can happen my wife's burger was tough to the point that the knife got stuck in the burger mine was lovely, presentation on the plates is terrible and chip potions our small for the money paid . When all was eaten we could not get out fast enough I asked for the bill Waitress said OK Asked again for the bill Bill arrived as waitress rushed past the table I asked twice for the card machine that arrived and when that arrived the waitress stood over my shoulder to check if I was clicking give tip and what ever that computer thing is on her hip stop fiddling with it our you in a rush . No thank you for visiting franky and Benny's nothing just said here gave me the card walked off . On the whole the Stevenage front of house staff need re training like I said I met two that seemed customer focused three male bar staff talking nastiness about customers other waitress staff talking and whispering as they moved around looking at customers My waitress has to be the most un-happy person I have ever met in a customer service role I do feel sorry for all your staff its got to be Franky and Benny's polices or practices that have bred this kind of atmosphere were customers our pushed in pushed out I obviously won't be back and will consider this visit if I ever go to another Franky and Benny's .. FYI I have used Franky and Benny's Hatfield before and found the staff and food lovely and very professional go...
Read moreSo after ordering food through the Deliveroo service to be picked up from Frankie and benny’s Stevenage restaurant, I was left feeling underwhelmed and annoyed by two issues!
Firstly my order came and was not complete. Missing fries ! Not the end of the world, so I thought I would phone and simply get it sent out. I was told it was not Frankie and bennys issue and I must phone deliveroo so they can send someone else out to pick up the fries!!
Deliveroo then tell me, no, they are not sending someone out and I can get a credit note for the fries instead!
So I decided to phone Frankie and bennys back, and again I’m told there’s nothing they can do.
The fact they gave the driver the order which was incomplete, and they are not willing to go beyond normal measures to make sure we have the food we ordered and they have accepted payment for makes no difference. This was solely Frankie and bennys fault, now I have children crying as they feel left out compared to the other child who has their full order. The blunt and stern response was not one I would of expected of what is suppose to be a family friendly restaurant.
Secondly, the food that was delivered was very poorly cooked and after being unable to eat it, was thrown away.
Deliveroo was disappointing but Frankie and bennys customer service was awful.
Saying to customers there is nothing more I can do just shows a lack of intuitive nature to go above and beyond to keep a customer happy.
Robotic and lack lustre response shows you are just but a number to this restaurant- don’t touch with a barge pole unless you want to risk being treated like a ticket number on a receipt which has been fully paid yet not delivered on.
Terrible all round.
Well done Frankie and bennys.
Off out to get some actual cooked food now with some human interaction to have that feeling of...
Read moreEven though we booked a table for 7.30pm my husband, two children and I had to wait in a queuing system, with pagers for 15 minutes before we were found a table! We were a bit surprised as when one books a table they're expected to be shown to their table as soon as they arrive. I have a 13 year old and a 10 year old and was told that the 13 year old could not order from the children's menu as it only catered for children up to the age of 11. As a paying customer I should be the judge of what menu my children can eat from and decided that both girls would eat from the children's menu. Just as well, as the starters were a reasonable size for the children but the main courses were massive and more than enough for a 13 year old! (Are there a lot of greedy kids in this country?) The restaurant was poorly lit and I could hardly see the menu let alone see what I was eating. I had the salmon spaghetti - which was not very nice! My eldest had ordered 'Ribs, Fries and Salad' for her main course and whilst eating this she complained that the 'ribs' were stone cold, which they were. As I wasn't in the mood for complaining that evening (we had just had a wonderful experience at the the local theatre), I decided to take the 'ribs' home. The children were so disappointed with the food that they decided to give their dessert a miss as they just wanted to leave the restaurant asap. We paid (no tip) and left. At home we discovered that the 'ribs' were actual chicken wings - I thought they were the most odd looking ribs whilst we were sat in the dim lit restaurant! Fortunately for my eldest she did not go down with food poisoning! Phew! I would never eat at that restaurant again, even if...
