Everyone we know has been hyping up Ñoño’s since they were on the Pike and on W. Glebe. We never went because we just never had time. Today we had time since I had the day off of work.
When I saw the new location on IG, I said we had to go since it is literally down the street from us. So today we went on down to the new location. For the time of day, that plaza was busy. I never go into that plaza so that was new for me altogether.
I will say, this is not your typical "dine-in" spot. There are no tables with dedicated chairs or anything. It's a lounge with a bar area you can sit at and obviously tables with couches around them where you can eat at if you don't mind eating at that low of a level. There are TVs around the lounge too.
We found a spot on one of the couches and saw QR codes on the tables. We thought we would have to order from there like some other restaurants do. However, the QR code lead to the IG page. We go to Ñoño’s website and the order online option only allows for delivery or pickup. But we wanted to eat there as we did see that was an option.
After about 3-4min, my wife went looking for someone who worked there because there was no one to be found in the main area. My wife found someone and she came out (later found out she was the only one there taking orders and cooking). She told my wife she can order online but my wife said we want to eat there and there was no option for that so the waitress went back and got a note pad to take our orders. She took our orders of birria tacos and went to put them in (the ladies who were there mentioned they ran into the same issue). There was also no offer to add anything to drink (water, soda, juice, etc).
While waiting we ended up moving to the bar to have a seat since space freed up and we didn't want to be hunched over eating at the couches. The food finally came out and this was the moment we were waiting for. We finally get to try what everyone was talking about and we were super excited! A few bites in and i realized it was lacking flavor. I added some of the sauce that came with it, some lemon, the consome dip, and nothing really changed. I thought it was just me but my wife and nephew thought the same. My nephew definitely ate more than us since he was starving. But I couldn't finish everything.
Time came to pay for the bill and we paid through a square up link that was texted to me. That was simple and quick to do. I'm going to push this on the side of this being a new location and not everything is 100% yet. We may return at a later date to...
Read moreI've seen so much hype about this place but I wanted to wait for the crazy lines to die down before I tried it. I came on a weekday evening. Parking is tricky - there's a tiny parking lot in front of the strip with plenty of street parking. Depending on when you come and how long you plan on being here, be smart about where you park because some of these places do tow.
The restaurant is hard to spot - it's a very nondescript door in the middle of two other stores. After you enter you head up a narrow set of stairs (only one person can go through at a time really). The dining area is small, nothing really to write home about. Very hole in the wall feel. Checkered tablecloths, seating for maybe 20 patrons total. If you're ordering to go, I recommend placing your order before you come here - if you order in store, they direct you to the same online ordering page via QC code. After placing my order, the food came out in about 10-15 mins.
On to the food. I ordered beef tacos w/cheese, birria torta, and mulita. Only the torta comes with consomme, otherwise you order it separately. I found the consomme portions to be generous with the torta so no need to order extra if you get that. The filling for all three was sooooo generous - tons of beef, tons of cheese. It honestly was a little too much for me, but the taste was amazing. I savored what I could eat from every item. The torta is enough for 2-3 meals. One taco is big enough to be a meal for some people. Mulita was very cheesy. Overall, the food was great, service was good, and I...
Read moreLike a lot of people, I first heard about this place from TikTok, and from that moment, I wanted the birria tacos. I was so excited to find out that Ñoño’s opened, and the same week I found out they were open, and I told my husband that we had to go. After reading reviews and stalking their IG, I knew we had to go early. The moment my husband was done with work calls (5:30) we got into the car, and headed to Ñoño’s. Luckily, when we got there, there were only five people in line (with other people waiting at table for their orders). We were at the front of the line in no time, and I coached my husband on what we had to get. I convinced myself that I could eat 4 tacos (with cheese, obvi) so we ordered eight tacos and two sides of consume for the two of us. The staff was so nice, and we only waited for ~8-10 minutes for our order. Luckily, we only live
