Have to be one of the best, sophisticated and less crowded North Indian food serving restaurant in and around metro Atlanta. Perfect place considering the location and how most of Alpharetta was missing such a great franchise in its neighborhood and with quality service.
We always wanted to visit this place at Decatur but was really excited when I got the news that it opened in Alpharetta which doesn’t seem too busy or crowded like Decatur Patel Plaza complex. Have tried this back in Chennai (India) and was longing to try and didn’t disappoint me. A perfect example of a pure Vegetarian restaurant.
For a Tuesday dinner time, the place was slightly packed and well lit. You get to order first and then sit down. So we went ahead and ordered Chole Bhatura, Aloo Tikki Chaat and HaraBhara Kebab.
Aloo Tikki Chaat: was very delicious according to me. The quantity wasn’t that great but good for just one person. There wasn’t too much of Spice or had too much of unnecessary Masala. It was just perfect. Salt could have been used a little bit more.
Chole Bhatura: was just good. I expected a lot from it but it didn’t completed disappoint me but could have been much better. The bhatura was too big and it had less salt as well but the Chole was perfectly cooked. It could have been a bit more spicy but it was still good.
HaraBara Kebab: was the best according to me. It was nicely cooked on the inside and crisp on the outer. The mint chutney was just superb! The crunchy dal here and there on the outer was just amazing. Would recommend this. With 6 pieces it was worth the money.
Definitely for the ambience, seating and service of this restaurant I would keep visiting this place in the future without any doubt. Slightly pricier compared to few other restaurants but much worthy incase you are looking for some great service and quality food. The place is clean and ample parking as well. Orders given without any delays unlike its diagonal neighbor Aunty’s Kitchen which is known for bad service and poor wait times.
Would definitely love to try their beverage options which includes Lassi, Shakes etc.
⚠️CAUTION ⚠️ The stainless steel tumblers are kept together in a stainless steel tray and definitely people having issues with Static, approach carefully. I took a static shock and also saw another person taking a static shock. Request for glass or paper cups if possible. Take care!
BOTTOMLINE: Great food, great place for pure Vegetarians. Not too spicy not too bland either. Just perfect. Great service, lightings and ambience. Worth visiting for its variety in menu!
MY PICKS FOR YOU: AlooTikki Chaat,...
Read moreI recently went to this place to have a vegetarian thali and then another couple of takeouts. Here is the summary of my experience here:
PS: This place has recently been updated and renamed as "India Bhavan". It now serves non-vegetarian items as well. I talked to the owner and he mentioned that he was paying a lot of franchising fees but did not receive the necessary support. Also, this new name gives him the freedom to add vegetarian items whereas Kailash Parbat was only vegetarian:
Ambiance 4/5: The ambiance is similar to the old outlet with a few updates here and there. I like the vibe of Indian posters and the aesthetic.
Service 5/5: Since most of my orders have been takeouts, this is only the review for takeout. The orders have been prompt and mostly been ready by the time I was there to pick them up.
Food 4/5: I have had 3 experiences with take-outs and here is the review:
a) Veg thali: The variety was good. They had naan, lentils, 1 paneer vegetable, dessert, some salad, a little rice and another vegetable which I am not able to recollect. I would have loved if they also added raita to it.
b) Paneer Biryani: This was my favorite. They had not started it yet but when I ordered, they were gracious enough to make and I absolutely loved it. The paneer was soft and the rice was full of flavors. It was the right amount of spicy as well.
c) Boneless chicken biryani: Happy with my experience of paneer biryani, I ordered the chicken boneless biryani with the lowest spice level. The owner was gracious enough to give me boneless chicken with chicken dum rice. I must that this is the most amount of chicken pieces I have had in a chicken biryani.
Although the biryani was flavorful, a couple of things of caution - The spice level although requested for the lowest, was still very spicy. Also, I would have loved if they gave 2 raitas with the biryani since 1 small dip container is too less for 1 full biryani.
Overall, definitely recommended and must visit since the new menu items added
The Good:

Read moreAs a family we have visited this Kailash Parbhat atleast 5-7 times in the few months since it has been open. Our early visits were very good, we enjoyed the food and the clean ambience. We recommended the place to so many of our friends already. I have dined in Kailash Parbhat in Mumbai, NYC, Toronto and other places and this one seemed to compare well with those. Unfortunately, things seem to have taken a sudden turn for the worse. Yesterday, we went there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We thought we will start with our usual order of two chole bhatures before moving on to other dishes. When the chole bhature arrived, we were disappointed at how oily the bhature were. The moment we tasted the chole, we realized it was a different recipe… masalas were completely off, the usual fresh taste of cooked chole was missing, it looked a different color too. I spoke to the guy in charge, and showed him both the bhature and the chole. They brought another chole for us (we ordered two chole, they brought only one replacement) and the new one was the same too… not at all the recipe we were used to. It tasted ordinary and ruined our daughter’s birthday meal. We left without finishing the food. We were offered a discount of $7, which is half the price of one chole bhature order :) By the way, we also noticed that price of a number of items have been raised a fair bit. In just 2 months from opening, they have hiked up the prices. We were so happy to have a good Mumbai restaurant close to us. Can’t express how disappointed we are at their sudden degradation. We were so encouraged with the food and service earlier and even expressed the same to Rucha, the co-owner. We really are thinking if it’s worth visiting...
