Just a little over 2000 miles west of Memphis is the delightful little home of Buford's Bbq. Nestled among the historic downtown buildings along 2nd street in Antioch, California is one of the best barbecue joints I've had the pleasure of visiting. Despite arriving well after they had officially closed for the day, the wonderful owners allowed my fiancé and myself to dine in rather than take their delicious food to go. My fiance ordered their brisket sandwich with a side of Macaroni and cheese, while I opted for the three way consisting of bbq pork ribs, bbq chicken and the bbq hot link. Along with a side of potato salad (made in house btw) and their Macaroni and cheese. Now I have to be honest with you, I don't normally order Mac and cheese but I'm absolutely happy I did today. Their sides were.... scrumptious to say the least. Everything was perfectly flavored. Not one component overshadowed another with each item. Their ribs had the perfect amount of smoke and just the right amount of sauce to not take away or hide the flavor of the meat. The chicken was tender and juicy. The links were full of robust flavor with out being overly spicy, which hasn't always been something I find with most barbecue restaurants. I thoroughly plan on many return visits to experience all their culinary offerings and to provide more reviews on those experiences as well. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming, along with an attentive staff making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Next time you're craving some delicious barbecue, you need to come down to Buford's. Support your local family restaurants.

If you're looking for BBQ in the East Bay, then look no further. This is a very good option fill your stomach with some good southern cooking. They serve REAL sweet tea here. I ordered pork ribs, brisket, beef sausage, macaroni and cheese , fried okra, The baked beans are simple, flavorful and a nice size serving. The sausage link was mild with tiny bits of spice. Brisket was juicy, smoky and tender. Okra was absolutely perfect. It didnt have too much breading like other places. Pork ribs are worth it to come here by themselves. Bring some wet wipes. It's going to get messy. Unfortunately the Mac & Cheese needs some help. There was no roux, no cheese crust on top and I was disappointed. It didnt seem fresh. Service was really good. They had 2 people cleaning tables, 1 person taking orders and 1 person in the kitchen (from what I saw). They have about 6 tables for customers and 2 benches for a waiting area. I didnt see any outside seating. Overall, I'd come back here again and bring 3 friends. Parking: easy 5/5 Value: 4/5 Return value: 5/5 Customer service: 4/5

I saw the reviews on here were so high. I have not had a bbq until stopping here that took me back 50 years. Ordered 2 Brisket sandwiches, one with green beans and one with Mac. The Mac was great, but the green beans I believe were cooked with ham hocks. Just off the hook delicious. The sandwiches were delicious also. The sauce is as its described in its name. I was stuffed and wasn't going to touch the peach cobbler. I warmed it up and bang right back to my country, childhood again. Thanks, Burford. See you soon . Ps can't wait for the next thing we will try.

Hands down the best BBQ joint around. Ordered the bbq chicken sandwich and the pulled pork sandwhich. Baked beans are amazing side choice so is the potatoe salad. Definitely hits the home cooked feel. Excited to try the pies soon. Help this business thrive! Def a spot we want to keep around!

This is the best BBQ I have ever had! I got the three meat plate (ribs, hot links and brisket) with mac n cheese and green beans. Everything tasted amazing! The staff were sweet and professional. My family will definitely be back and I’m letting all my friends know about this gem!
