I will never return to this location again. What I thought would be a great experience, turned out horrid. I have a neurological / psych disability. My dog is registered as my ada service animal, documented at my place of residence as well. Upon me walking in, I was completely discriminated against, and refused service . The “manager” completely dismissed me and made me feel shamed for bringing my dog. This was immediately as I walked in. He was harassing me to show an “ID” when legally all service dogs do not have any identification. I was trying to advise him that there are some people who may fraudulently have service dog “IDs” , and that I do have a registration number for my dog. The manager , including the staff is highly incompetent due to their dismissive actions and inability to simply verify my use for my service animal. The manager also stated, that they “must have id’s” and that he as well, has a service dog…… with no disability. I asked him what disability does HE have and he confirmed he didn’t have one….. Please train your managers as this person has poor judgement, people ethics, clearly uneducated, and lack integrity. He clearly does not know the law, or policies surrounding ADA animals. To have an ADA SERVICE ANIMAL , you MUST have a disability where tasks from the dog is req for your benefit. The manager advised me he “takes his dog on the plane” ….. My animal has to go everywhere with me. The “manager” does not have to. I told him she does have a registration number. He kept harassing me for an “ID” and I was telling him it’s her registered but there is no specific “ID” …. I was harassed, neglected, recorded, and a staff member attempted to hit me. I just wanted to try the food. But now, witnessing the skillsets and types of people that this location hires, I too refuse to ever eat here…. Period. Therefore, I will be considering litigation. I left in tears, as I was awaiting the front for 15-20 minutes to show him my dogs number. Tje staff just watched me as I was in distress. The manager does not represent this restaurant well because he has done nothing but ESCALATE the issue. This person isn’t ready for management, he’s most likely a manager due to seniority (I’ve been at CAVA five years)
