My family visited Chaska Bar & Grill right before the Friday dinner rush. Parking was a bit of a hassle, although the sign says "parking in the back" I'm not sure what parking is being referenced because directly behind the restaurant was two stalls.
Upon entering we were politely greeted and immediately seated, there was one other table as far as I could tell. Shortly thereafter the place began filling up.
The waitress was nice and took our order: masala fries, samosa, chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, mango lassi.
Masala Fries: 1/5 They were brought out very quickly but the fries were cold. I understand the toppings are chopped veggies but the actual fries weren't crispy, very much cold and soggy
Samosa: 5/5 Crispy delicious goodness, flavor was beautiful, probably my favorite of the night
Chicken Tikka Masala: 5/5 Staple dish, I know it's very American but my kids love it and they loved this dish
Chicken Biryani: 4/5 There wasn't much chicken in our portion, there was a ton of peas though, wish the chicken dish had a good portion of chicken. Flavor was nice, rice was cooked well.
Service: 3/5 The hostess was nice, our waitress was nice. My issue was it became apparent our waitress was the only waiter/waitress at the time and it was noticeable by our service. We needed drinks, asked the hostess (because the waitress never came around after taking order) for a root beer, was brought a Dr. Pepper. Pointed out the error, but our root beer never came. The only other time we saw our waitress was when she brought our check and even then, we waited 15 minutes to successfully get her attention.
We do plan on giving Chaska Bar & Grill another go but we will definitely wait for a while, hopefully then the issues will...
Read moreMy husband was craving indian food and we found this place on google and gave it a try.
Food was great. We had garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and chicken biryani. We ordered all of them with mild spice and it was just perfect heat for us. The serving portion looked small for its price but it was actually a lot for both my husband and I. We were actually surprised we didn't finish the food. The serving bowls definitely gave a small portion illusion.
The only complaint we have is how freezing cold it was in the restaurant. I was not sure if the ac was on or the heater was off. It was already a chilly day and sitting in a cold restaurant just made it worse for us. My husband made a joke about how we should have asked for the food to be spicier to heat up our body for how cold it was in there. I was already wearing a warm coat that I didn't take off throughout the duration of our time there but it was still cold.
Parking in the back was a bit confusing. It says it's one way(going right) but how do we get to the parking lot if it says one way only when the parking lot is on the left side? I turned left before I realized it was a one way road. Lol then leaving the parking lot got more confusing because the side I took to get to the parking lot is a one way road as well. I had to keep driving to find a way out. That's one thing you should keep a look out for before going to this place so you're not lost like us since it was our first time dining here.
We'll still come back for their food and get better at finding the right way to get to the...
Read moreWe went here tonight after hearing about it from the Neighborhood App. And we loved it! We were able to reserve a table, but it wasn’t too busy when we arrived. Everyone was really nice and were such team players! Everyone was helping out everyone and it was really awesome to see.
We had Samosas, a prawn dish, garlic naan x2, Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter lamb. We also tried the chai-Tini which was yummy! Everything was delicious! My only recommendation would be to serve a little more rice with the curry, we ordered more to go with our leftovers! Service was great and our food came out quick and steaming hot! The ambiance was nice and we sat in a cute little booth. We were checked on multiple times and the owner walked around to check on all the tables. He even gave us a complimentary dessert for coming to check the restaurant out…I can’t remember what it was, but it was like a donut like ball with some syrup glaze. Was skeptical at first but it was amazing!!
Overall we are excited to have an Indian place closer to home and we will...
