I debated between 2 and 3 stars. I decided to give it 3-stars to offer benefit of the doubt since we were a large group with children that showed up on a Friday night primetime, and we were seated with a new, inexperienced waiter. That said, there are a lot of misses that I felt inclined to share a review in hopes they will take the opportunity for improvement. If you are attracted to the restaurant because you have kids and it has a playground, I would say "think twice." The inside does not boast kid-friendly. It feels a bit too adult to want to sit with kids, and the outdoor seating is a major oversight. There are walls that interfere with the view to the playground to monitor your kids, and only small booth seating (which is hard for larger families who I imagine will be the primary market for those seats, especially with kids who want to get up-and-down to play and have to climb over each other to get out of the booth). On top of that, we were seated at a dirty tables (plural since we had to take multiple booths) with chips and dried queso all over it that was never cleaned off. We ordered pizzas that were weirdly served in to-go boxes; and our main entrees were meant to share between adults but we never received dinner plates so we ate the fajitas over the sizzling skillets. There was trash all over the playground, maybe from the recent renovations because one of our children brought a big rusted screw back to the table. It took nearly 2-hours for us to receive end-to-end service (way too long with kids). A table that was sat AFTER us had finished eating their dinner before our server had even come to take our drink order. When we finally got our food we had to speed eat and then track down our server to get the check because we were so far past bedtime. The floor manager or owner (not sure) was hyper and visibly overwhelmed and stressed...to the point that it was hard not to be contagious to the staff and customers. The food itself was okay, but the margarita was weak and everything felt overpriced especially given the service level. It is a major disappoint for a restaurant that I had high hopes for in the Four Points area. As a family with young kids, the playground was a major draw, but overall the experience, details and service was just a big mess and we...
Read moreThe first time we came to try this restaurant it was closed during open hours. We decided to give it another shot today for lunch. They have a big patio but the brick walls block airflow and the fans weren’t all working (we also had to ask for them to be turned on). The patio was wet and very slippery with no signage. The playground is great for kids but is definitely meant for older kids who know how to climb well. There is a cute yard section with seating and misters, as well as some yard games. They have a cute axe throwing area, and not well kept cornhole board. We had 3 kids plates (after ordering the pizza which they are out of)- chicken tenders (came out as Dino nuggets), a cheese quesadilla, and cheese enchilada plate. The kids loved their food. We received two different salsas with our chips, but weren’t told that they would be different. One was brown and when we ordered another bowl it came out red with much more tomato flavor. The burrito supremo was supposed to be fried but they said they weren’t able to so it just came out grilled. It did not have the right ingredients as listen on menu and smelled rotten. It was inedible. The black beans were delicious. Rice tasted like chicken bouillon. Very plain and not good. The lunch fajita plate came with an enchilada that was ok. The meat (was supposed to come with 6 strips of mixed meat) came out as a ton of steak, too tough to even bite. Charro beans tasted like canned pinto beans in chicken broth. Same boring rice. Guacamole and margaritas were good. Our waiter was so kind and even helped the kids with their ketchup. He took our criticism of the food to the manager and made sure our bill was fixed. He stayed on top of drink refills and quickly brought us anything we needed. Based on this experience for the price, we...
Read moreAdding to review: 5+ stars. We came a 2nd time. I tried the Tacos Mixtos Adrian and it was SOOOO GOOD! I'll get 2-3 meals out of it. Service was great again. Had 3 or 4 different people ask us how everything was and if we needed anything. Outdoor booths were comfortable. Their chips and salsas are great, salty, and they kept refilling them. There was someone else's review that gave 3 stars basically because there wasn't anyone here eating...ignore that idiot's review. That's because they're new - Duh! Come support our local restaurant!
We came on a Saturday night around 5:30. We were seated immediately. The chips were crispy. The salsa was fresh and not too mild, not too spicy. Our server, Andy, was friendly and attentive. We tried 3 different margaritas, all delicious. Hubby had the Mixto Pibil which he enjoyed, and it had a nice marinade taste, tender, and a large serving. I had the enchiladas Verdes which came with 3 enchiladas. The green sauce could be a little creamier to take away some of the sour taste, but others may appreciate the Verdes just as is. The rice and beans were also great, just wish the enchiladas came with slightly more rice and beans. Overall, we enjoyed the open atmosphere, food, and margs. We will definitely be back! Excited to have another Mexican option in the neighborhood. A mariachi band would complete the experience!
Added note: ATX Pizza, Wings, and Boba Tea, next door, is the same owner and you can also order their food to eat inside ATC Marg, so that's...
