This was the second time we ate here. The first time was really wonderful. This time, was not.... Our order came out really slowly. At least 30 min between appetizer and main dish. and then they got my order wrong. Twice. I didn't get everything I ordered until I brought it to the waiter's attention, and one of the things I did order was wrong and never fixed. Then there was another long wait for dessert. And the beignets were over cooked and heavy. They put enough powdered sugar on them for 10 orders, maybe to hide the fact that they were over done. But i get it. I'm a retail business owner, and sometimes no matter how diligent you are things go wrong, and I ordinarily wouldn't leave a bad review unless I thought it was an all the time thing. However, one thing I can't abide is deceptive business practices. when we walked in, there was a big sign with "20% off military discount". We didn't go there for that and didn't even know about it until we walked in. Still, it's nice when those of us who served are given a discount. And most places give 10%, so 20% seemed really generous. Except, they don't give you a 20% discount, they only discount the veteran's main course. And they take it off after the tax, so you get taxed on the full amount. My discount came to about 6% when all was said and done. I have traveled all over this country and many businesses offer military discounts, and no matter what the discount is, it's always done the same way. They total up your whole order, deduct the discount on your entire order, then do a new total and then calculate the tax. Now if I had seen an ad saying military discount 20% and had gone there because of that, I would have been a lot more pissed than I was. Not because of the size of the discount, but because of the deception. If the sign had said "20% discount for military, entree only", I would have been fine with that and grateful for the discount I got. But any business with deceptive practices really frosts me, whether or not it has anything to do with veterans. The customer service is questionable with one server in particular- Destiny- manipulating the point of sale system and telling multiple lies. The food took forever to come out (seemed to taste pretty good aside from a lot of salt on some of it), server did not check on us while we ate, and we had to flag her down to get the check. The restaurant was out of beignets. My husband repeatedly asked if there was pork sausage in the dirty rice and Destiny said no. She said she would bring a sample for him to see- it never came. Sure enough, when the plate came out, there was sausage all in the ruce and the red snapper dish. I hope he does not get sick. When she brought the check back, she did not give me an itemized receipt, only the store copy for me to sign that showed SOME TOTAL and that she automatically added 18% gratuity; there were only 2 of us in the party. when I asked her why it was added, she said they do that on the weekends. I asked her to show me where that was in writing and she said don't worry about it, I will just take it off. She started to get offended and stated "I gave you great customer service!" I asked for a manager and she said that there was not one there. I asked to speak to another 1 of the waiters, and he did not know anything about the register system or how to correct the issues she created. Apparently one of the cooks, Ernesto, had to come out and help her fix the problem. She lied again and said she voided the first ticket and she did not. I asked for a copy of the voided ticket and she brought me something back with some other customer's name and banana pudding- no one in my party ordered or mentioned this. Ernesto had to correct that and void the first ticket so that my card was properly charged for what we ordered. He was very apologetic, which we appreciated. Needless to say, this is one restaurant I will never visit ever again! I will make sure word-of-mouth gets out about the issues here so that other people don't fall into the same trap. Read moreThis place's customer service is absolutely terrible! We have been coming here with our family and friends for a while and have not had an issue until today. Today we placed a to go order because I wanted their chicken and my husband wanted fish and shrimp. I ordered first with a girl who seemed to be new because she needed help from another associate for a different customer. As we placed our order and paid $42 for 2 things, we waited to receive our food. Yes the food was shown to us but it was not stated which meal was which and the fried chicken and fried fish look very similar. We drove 20 mins home ready to enjoy our food and I noticed the chicken I ordered was actually the fish. I called and spoke to 3 different people and eventually the owner Jennifer picked up the phone and explained that I needed to drive back to the location in order for them to see it and correct it and it was our fault that we didnt catch the mistake at the restaurant. She explained her business perspective and basically said that was all they can do after I mentioned I could not drive back right now to show them it was a mistake. After arguing with me, speaking over me, telling me I needed to send them a picture of my food and that there was nothing they would do unless I went back immediately, Jennifer asked me what I wanted her to do. I simply stated I just wanted my order corrected at a time that was convenient for me (the customer who provides business to this establishment quite often) and it was not my fault that it was placed incorrectly. With an attitude she agreed but at this point I am very disappointed with this business and it is absolutely ridiculous how they manage customer service.
