This past Wednesday a group of us visited Wienerstube Restaurant in Willits Town Center in Basalt, Colorado.

Parking is plentiful and free along the street.

On Wednesday nights, Wienerstube offers 50% off schnitzel and beer, and that was the reason for our visit.

The outdoor patio was full already by 6.30pm, so we decided to take a table inside by the window.

There were only two waiters working, so service was a bit slow since the restaurant was pretty busy.

The 50% special applies to both the wiener schnitzel (which can be selected as pork, veal or chicken) or the jaeger schnitzel.

We tried a 1L beer at 50% off, and the glass was shaped like a boot! We even saw someone get the largest 2L size, which was INSANE.

My chicken schnitzel was moist and delicious, and I thought it was our favorite amongst the entrees. The pork wiener schnitzel my mom had was a little bit tough and definitely did not heat as well when we had half of it for lunch the next day. The Jaeger schnitzel came with a mushroom sauce and macaroni salad, but I thought the chicken was more outstanding.

For dessert, which was my favorite part of the meal, we had the tiramisu and the apple strudel. The tiramisu was world class - however, the apple strudel's crust was soggy, which is not how true appel strudel should be.

Either way, the meal was about $30 per person including tax given the 50% off special, so I highly recommend you check out dining with them on their special evenings, which also includes 50% off steak and wine...

This is a mixed review. First- food was wonderful. Cooked well, flavorful, perfect temperature. Unfortunately service wasn't just poor, it was weird and uncomfortable. We were seated by someone that never introduced herself, only brought water, and never said anything to us after that. We waited 20 minutes before a tall gruff man came to our table. Never introduced himself or asked if we wanted drinks, just said "ready"? We gave our order, another 30 minutes before food showed up. It was great, but we were never offered condiments or salt/pepper and no on checked on us. The only person that came by was the lady with water, and she didn't speak to us. We had to flag her down to get a box after about 10 minutes of waiting when we were done. We decided not to try for dessert since it was never offered and we didn't want to have to flag someone down to ask for options. We were there for well over an hour and basically ignored. I even joked with my partner about maybe we smelled or something and that's why we were ignored.

May go back if we are in the area again, but wouldn't make it...

We went for the first time for Sunday Brunch today. So excited as we love German food! The food, AMAZING! The beer/wine/drink selections, AMAZING! The service, worst we have ever had! The 2 servers were horrific at best. No personality, no attention to detail and if it wasn't for the bartender coming out from behind the bar to assist with cleaning up (we had to ask him if we could order through him - he was extremely nice and helpful!) It took over 15 minutes just to get water - took over 30 minutes to get our beer/cocktail - took over 30 minutes to get our 2 apps - took over an hour to get our food. Server never asked if we needed anything - ran out of water, my cocktail, had to ask another busser I think for plates and silverware, it was terrible service. The place was only half full. Definitely will go back for the food and beer! Just don't expect much for the service. Loved the atmosphere! We were just a party of two friends celebrating...

We first walked in a the decor and furniture was perfect. The atmosphere was cultured and felt synonymous with the food. They were understaffed, but our waitress did an amazing job of tending to the entire dining floor. She was friendly and the service was relatively quick. I shared the burrata salad and it was amazing. The burrata was delicious and was complimented very well by the vegetables. I particularly liked the almonds and the roasted artichoke. I then enjoyed the burger. It was very tasty and cooked to medium rare perfection. The onions provided a great crunch to aid the tender taste of the sausage and angus patty. My dad enjoyed his sausages and sauerkraut was the best I have tried. Overall, it was a great improv decision. The food was top tier, atmosphere was great, and the service was good even with them being short staffed.
