New review for the FOOD QUALITY - I moved to the area 6 years ago and left my favorite and trusty Mexican food restaurant behind and happily called this place my favorite and go to. 2 months ago we noticed a BIG change in the food quality. We dined in last night,11.01.2021. The Chile Rellenos was no longer prepared the way we love and know. It is now a hard poblano pepper with the seeds removed and stuffed full of whatever you order, breaded with hard breading on the outside and fried in the deep fryer, making the whole thing dry like chalk and crunchy. That's not a Chile Relleno I've been making nearly 20 years that is charred, steamed, cleaned and then covered in a light eggy batter and fried in a cast iron skillet after it has been stuffed with the night's stuffing of choice. The Chile Con Queso - where do I begin? It is nothing I've ever experienced before and that's not a compliment. It is grainy like it was made with uncooked flour or meal and made into an orange yellow paste that sets up like spackle. I'm not even sure how they were able to accomplish that texture with food but it is pure YUCK. The cleanliness is another question... What happened? This used to be the best smelling and clean restaurant when you walk in. Presentable and friendly staff. This place smelled like the recycling end of a brewery. I've worked in a brewery as a mechanic and I can tell you this...it is very unpleasant around the lines of spilled beer and the places where they recycle glass bottles and cans. It's pretty foul. This restaurant reminded me just of that. I had the Cancun plate last night and the Tamale was grey like it came from a can and the orange tortilla was hard as hell. How can you charge MORE money for low quality food? The cheese sauce is still $9. How? It's not even real cheese. Anyways, if you eat here...eat at your own risk. We've complained to the manager 2 months ago, distanced our visit to give them time to fix what they obviously broke and discovered last night that, of all places, Casa Ole had better quality food than this place. That's pretty sad.
