Amazingly, we received the best service and best food back when Giordano's first opened and they were swamped! Since then, both have steadily deteriorated to the point where we'll no longer be ordering from them.
As everyone knows, this is a very deep pizza and as such, requires extra time to bake. Unfortunately, although the customers are aware of that, it seems as though the cooks haven't been clued in. The last THREE pizzas that we ordered have been significantly under-cooked.
Although we should have -- since we had to throw the nearly $40 pie out! -- we didn't call to complain about the first one. However, after placing my online order for the next one I called in to say the last one had been underdone and that I wanted to be sure that this one was baked correctly. In response, the woman asked me if I'd put that under "special orders." I did not, as it didn't occur to me that baking the pie to completion was "special."
Last night we bought our last under-baked pizza from Giordano's. Despite the fact that I put "extra crispy" as a special instruction, the exposed dough was light in color and not at all crunchy. As one would expect in such a case, the rest of the dough was soggy and gooey.
Further, it was not cooked according to our instructions as there was meat on the entire pizza rather than just half. As a vegetarian, that's especially problematic for me.
To add to last night's bad experience, the pizza was not ready at the promised time. Likewise, there were three other customers who were waiting for their late pizzas. The take-out clerk promised each separately that she would check on their orders, but each time she left and never returned. Three times in a row! Once she even went looking for a pizza that was boxed and ready (my husband saw the name and alerted the customer who served himself and left).
In summary, we've wasted nearly $120 on inedible food from Giordano's. They had three chances, which we think is more than fair, so we're done. Obviously, they also lost business last night when customers left without receiving and paying for their orders (which no doubt was dumped...
Read moreI dined at Giordano's on Sunday. Walking into the restaurant, I was seated at a cramped two seat table all the way to the back of the restaurant. Crowded around our table we're tables with groups of four or more so that only added to the feeling of being shoved "out of the way". The service experience was lackluster and further compounded by our server "ignoring" us throughout the entire meal. She spent more time being attentive to the table of four near us than she did checking on our meal and experience. She did refill our drinks with efficiency, however I think it was done more to just simply rush us out. Our food arrived only to have someone else bring it to our table and then announce that it wasn't our order, just to take it all the way back to the kitchen only to come back out with the same pizza five minutes later with no explanation. The pizza that was served looked like it had been dropped on one side and was not what I would've expected. Upon eating my first bite the pizza was warm, and not at all hot. I suspect this was because of the earlier "bait and switch" and delay of getting our food. Sadly, Giordano's doesn't live up to the hype. My first experience with Giordano's will probably be my last because of the terrible service and the way that I felt more like an intrusive person rather than a paying customer. I did ask to speak to a member of management, but I was informed that they were busy handling another matter and that it would be another 10-15 minute wait. After having waited 1 hour and 32 minutes for a small pizza that was disappointing, I didn't want to invest more of my time with Giordano's because I already felt like the service staff didn't care from the start. I have included a picture of the "flat tire" pizza that I was eventually served, next to a picture of the pizza that Giordano's advertises for comparison. After spending almost $40.00 and not getting anything like what is advertised, this was a very disappointing and...
