First of all I came here with both of my children one is 16 and the other is 8 with a severe autism when we first entered the store the older lady gave a disgusting look to my young child of 8 which in turn she was a tantrum before coming in and was a little loud but not much afterwards the lady yelled at us to sit and we didn’t know where we went to the wrong table and the lady yelled once again to go to the table she said but didn’t specify me and my son we’re ready to leave the place without eating but we didn’t since my child had a tantrum a little bit before and was hungry we had to and after we sat the rude lady with an attitude gave us only water and some chopsticks and napkins and afterwards she never came back to ask us if we needed drinks or anything else only time she talked to us was when I accidentally left my purse and when I called her out on never coming back to serve us any drinks or anything and when I did she tried to be nice to us and offered us drinks but at that point I didn’t wanted anything and said no and paid since her attitude was necessary I feel she should retire off that attitude and behavior towards people with autism and also she was being racist since there was another family which in turn was white and she was acting nice with them having conversations with them and with us we are a Latino family and with someone a disability and she never gave us the light of day to even pay attention or serve us well I feel she should with that racist nasty attitude and rude behavior towards me and my family when we never came to the restaurant nor will we ever even if it’s the most closest sushi place near me I do not recommend if you are a Latino person or another a race to come here unless you want to be...

When I go to a new sushi restaurant I always try the bento box, if there is one on the menu. From my recollection Mioga had 6. This seemed like a good sign, and I decided to try my luck with a Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box.

For those unaware, typically a bento box is around $14 to $20 and contains:

Miso Soup Meat (or fish) California Roll (or something equivalent) Pot sticker or egg rolls Salad

and sometimes varying additions, one place I went to even served their bento with fresh fruit and a slice of cheesecake.

This salmon bento for $16 included:

4 pieces of a roll (undefined?) a bed of lettuce with a few croutons a dry cut of salmon, with a decent amount of skin (think pre-jerky) miso (this was pretty decent)

We also ordered a few other rolls which I will get to in a moment.

I think in my 31 years of life I have maybe thrown away 3 total meals, for example: once when I ordered delivery pizza, they burned the ENTIRE center of the pizza and the crust was doughy, I also found 3 long hairs throughout, and the delivery guy dropped my sauces all over my front porch. And even then, it took me until the 3rd hair to give up and throw it away.

This Bento was incredibly inedible. The salmon dry and flavorless, with a side of danger (?), the salad felt out of place and thrown in a box, the roll seemed as though they just snagged a random plate off the line, the miso... not bad...

We had ordered a few of the fancier rolls, they were warm and the quality wasn't there. The tamago was pretty good though.

Even if 0 stars were possible I would still give 1/5.

The guy who helped us at the register was very friendly and was obviously working extremely hard. Some of the food was okay.

If you are an avid sushi lover, I'd...

Never would I have expected to be yelled at by service workers while paying to dine. From the minute of entering, my friend and I never been here before, not knowing if we were to pick our seats or be seated, we’re immediately yelled at by the worker behind the counter to sit down and pointed at the conveyer belt area. After sitting down we were confused if we needed to order from the service worker or the person making the food since there was literally a total of 10 items going around the belt. After waiting a awhile the service lady brought over a paper to fill out for our order not even 5 minutes later she began yelling at the people next to us for their paper order “give it to me now!” Then she began yelling off the order incredibly loud to the person making the food who was 1 foot from her. After that she began waving her hand in a grabbing motion toward my friend for our ticket saying “give it, now, done? Hurry up!” I told my friend I wanted to leave I was so unpleased with the service demeanor and attitude. We were so hungry we decided to stay and order. Once we were done filling out our ticket she began yelling it off loudly to the person making the food, again steps from her and extremely loud in our ears. The atmosphere was not what we were expecting and the service was incredibly unpleasant to be around. When we were done we brought our ticket up and said we wanted it separate and she proceeded not to do so, yet did that for the group next to us. I asked for a to go cup for my soda and she yelled and pointed to where I could grab one myself. This review does not do justice for how unbearable to shouting and rude service was. Service was chaotic, with aggressive yelling at customers and...

Preface: I've worked at a sushi restaurant. I do want to also note that I've only had one single experience with them. It could have been a bad day for them. Product and Service: 1/5 Sushi was old. Best word to describe the fish was slimy. The rolls and nigiri are all smaller than average. The kind where, when you finish your meal, you feel sick to your stomach instead of content. Value: 2/5 For the quality of the sushi, I expect it to be cheaper than what I paid. I felt like I paid for mediocre sushi (~$30/person) but the value should have been around $15. For their price range, I expected better quality. Timeliness: n/a Went through Uber Eats. It arrived in under an hour from the order time. Can't judge as there is another service in the mix but it was fine. Presentation: 3/5 It wasn't the best (by the time it arrived, rolls were broken). Though I can chalk it up to poor handling by an Uber driver, I could tell that it wasn't made properly to begin with. I'll update this review if anything new presents itself. However, based on my experience, I'd rather go to many other areas that have been consistently amazing; I probably wouldn't give this place another chance. Come here if you're REALLY in the mood for sushi and others are closed or too inconvenient. Overall: 2/5

We got take out from this place to try their sushi. Unfortunately, the first bite was of the maguro, and before my tongue touched the fish I was awash in concern. Concern for my stomach, concern for the quality of the rest of my meal, and concern for the tuna whose life was given to eventually lead to this review. I have never in my life had sushi that so closely resembled the texture of overcooked chicken. I couldn't eat it. Maguro - the centerpiece of sushi, sat uneaten. We ate around this absolute abomination, but the good taste of the other dishes (stick to rolls here) couldn't stop me from looking back at the tuna and wondering how it could possibly be so bad. To be fair, it likely wasn't the fish, but the handling of the fish (old, perhaps?). But the damage was already done. When living a life, there must be a vast collection of things from worst to best, and it is always unfortunate to meet with the worst. But it is also a gentle reminder that things don't always turn out as you plan, and that maguro-sized place in your stomach can always be filled with a little more wine.

This place is fantastic, especially for families. My teen loves 'sushi go-round' style restaurants as they are perfect for picky eaters and makes taste-testing new items super easy and affordable. Their selection is quite expansive and every time we went there was something new to try. The fish is super fresh and the staff is very friendly. During COVID, they started offering takeout which made my entire family very happy! They maintained their affordable prices and our food was ready in under an hour, every time and the quality never suffered. We felt more than happy to continue to support this business and since moving to SouthEast Portland a few weeks ago, our only regret is that this wonderful place is so far away now. Will definitely go any time we're in the area!
