My recent visit to Chi Chi Bellevue was a complete disaster. We waited for an hour just to be seated, and when we finally thought it was our turn, we were told to go to the back of the line. Apparently, because we had left the premises less than six minutes prior, we had lost our place. This was ridiculous—most places have a wait period of at least ten minutes!
Every decent restaurant knows you need a grace period for customers. But Chi Chi Bellevue didn’t seem to care. We even battled with the red-haired manager, who was extremely rude when we brought up the situation. The staff were totally indifferent to our predicament, not even offering an apology or trying to help us out. It was like they didn’t value our time at all.
My girlfriend had to step in and apologize to the manager because she was getting offended by how they were treating me. The manager finally said, “OK, we’re gonna give you a table.” They then sat us at the table, but the ordeal didn't end there. After we were finally seated, the manager brought up the situation again, accusing us of not being sincere and calling us very immature. She even sought an apology directly from me, which was incredibly immature on her part. We then educated her on the fact that as a business, especially in Bellevue, they need to understand that not everyone can pick up their call the moment they are called. Some people have other calls to make, and they should be given a 10-minute grace period. Have some common sense.
All in all, Chi Chi Bellevue really dropped the ball. Their strict and unfair policies, combined with unhelpful staff, made for a terrible dining experience. I hope the business manager and the owner of the restaurant read this review because this is critical to how their business will survive in the future. Unless they make some serious changes, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s just not...
Read moreCame here for a friend's birthday party on a Friday night. While there are some positive things there are also more than a few things that need work.
First - I do appreciate their flexibility in accommodating not only a large group but a different time slot. My party of 20 (!!) moved our time slot up an hour and we were accommodated without issue. Their ability to to adapt and seat us was greatly appreciated. The ambiance here was also pretty nice but you should know it's definitely a club vibe. No windows and honestly I felt like this place was a cap hill establishment given how loud and vibrant it was. I enjoyed it but know that if loud spots aren't your thing you might not enjoy this place.
Onto the negatives. The food left a lot to be desired. Not only was it overpriced (see picture descriptions for prices), the taste was mediocre (except for the wings which were very good). $8 for instant ramen, $24 for 8 wings?! For that they lose a star. Another star is lost for the poor/spotty service. The alcohol was certain flowing - when we ordered it, the drinks came out almost instantly. The food though took forever. We ordered food though their tablet system (which was convenient) but it took roughly 45-60 min to get served. That to me is inexcusable and loses another star. What's also weird is that I saw another Yelp review say they don't have table time limits? My party was basically forced out after 2 hours.
Antoher positive is that the tablets can be used to challenge other tables to games. Loser pays for a prize - usually a bottle of soju - for the other table. This is a fun way to keep the experience exciting.
All in all, if you want a typical club experience with a loud environment I'd go here. I'd skip all the food due to the middle-of-the-road quality and poor...
Read moreWent here for a birthday dinner and was super excited to try this place because of all the rave they were getting but was quite disappointed.
The cheesy corn was mostly burnt, the tteokbokki sauce was very watery, and the french fries were somehow crispy and soggy??
However, I will say their drinks are quite good and do recommend.
Our server was just the sweetest and wanted to make sure the birthday girl felt celebrated. 10/10 service from this individual specifically. Didn't catch her name, but she wore a tag that says "kawaii". I think my rating would be lower if it wasn't for her in all honesty.
Pretty sure their tablets have a few glitches or malfunctions because it made us pay for someone else's drinks despite not playing any of the games. When we told the manager, he doubled down and told us he saw the drinks on our table which is hilarious considering how not only did he NOT stop by our table, he was nowhere even near our table the whole night until we called for him. Then he came back and said "are you sure you didn't play any games?" After he clearly stated he "saw a beer and soju bottle on our table".
Honestly, I should've told him to check his security cameras if he really wanted to make sure but in the moment I was just trying not to get mad and cause a scene. After telling him he might want to check his tablets in case it happens again in the future or other people, he didn't even apologize for the mix up. Instead, he just smiled and said "oh okay. Well I already fixed it for you" and walked away.
Overall, I don't think I'll be coming back but I do think it's a fun concept for other people who want to try. Just make sure to check your receipt before paying, otherwise you could be charged something you didn't order...
