Learn moreIf you’re traveling through or looking for a new spot to eat, let me save you the time and disappointment—Big Whiskey’s is absolutely not worth it.
This was only my second visit ever, and I gave it another chance hoping my first experience was just an off day. It wasn’t. In fact, this time was worse. The food was so bad, it actually made my fiancée throw up on the way home. She tried to be polite about it and blamed her pregnancy, but we both knew it was the food—specifically, the salad, which somehow managed to be soggy, bland, and borderline rancid all at once.
Now let me make this clear: when a restaurant can’t even make a basic salad taste remotely fresh or edible, that’s a huge red flag. The rest of the food? No better. Everything we ordered tasted like it had either come out of a microwave or was reheated from a previous shift. Not a single dish had any flavor, freshness, or care. I’m not sure what’s going on back there in the kitchen, but it genuinely made me wonder if they’re hiring people who actually know how to cook.
And don’t expect to wash the taste down with a refreshing drink either—our drinks were lukewarm at best, almost like they came from a cooler that had been unplugged. You shouldn’t have to ask for ice in a restaurant just to make your soda tolerable.
The only redeeming part of this visit was our server. She was attentive, kind, and honestly did everything she could to make the experience bearable. If this review were based on service alone, it’d be a completely different tone—but unfortunately, service can’t make up for disgusting food.
For anyone visiting the area or even locals considering dining here: don’t waste your time or money. There are far better places nearby with real kitchens, fresh ingredients, and staff that take pride in the food they’re serving. Until Big Whiskey’s seriously rehires their entire kitchen staff and learns the basics of food quality, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in my life—and that’s...

Original Review:
I thought my boyfriend and I were regulars - we loved the bar room and bring all of our out of town guest. We went yesterday and took a disabled friend. I asked if we could sit in a booth in the bar area, in particular one under a big screen. It’s a Sunday afternoon and we are all fans. I was told no, no one here to wait on that booth. I said okay, could we have another booth in the bar area- I was told no, someone called in and someone else is coming on. It was 4:50. I asked if we waited 10-15 minutes could we sit in the big bar room, again saying my friend is disabled and doesn’t get out much. We were excited to be out in a nice place to eat a steak and watch a game. I was told no. At this point I am frustrated- my family is frustrated and thinks I am being ugly, until we are taken to the over flow room and sat at a table with view of a fuzzy broken tv and a brick wall. Guess what? Not one other person was seated in this room after us- everyone seated in the bar room. My boyfriend talked to the manager to explain, but guess what happened- nothing. I am a kind person. Most of my reviews are 5s. I pass out label pins and tip big because I care about people. A place I thought I was a regular created conflict disappointment and just really awful service. I will not be back. Looking for a new place that has a nice bar and good food to be a regular. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I will not spend another dime at BW. Especially because of the total disregard shown to my...
Read moreMy wife and I ate a early dinner here yesterday. Service was good until the food arrived and then she never checked to see how the food was or how we were doing. When the main meal came out, the sides were cold and no one around to tell. Saw our server working the bar instead of the tables and tried to flag her down. No one else was around when I fininally got up to go get her someone else came by and instead of handle the issue, they went and told our server and when she finally showed up she stated the customer at the bar just kept talking. Sorry, tell them you'll be right back and check your table.
The food wasn't that great. I got the Ribeye and frankly there wasn't much taste to it. The ribs my wife got was okay, nothing to go back for. Since no one felt the need to check on their table, I was left high and dry on the Sprite. I kept inching it to the end of the table to see if anyone would notice - not. She was happy to drop the bill off when we were done.
Will we go back - no, to many other places in town wanting my business with good service. My check number was 777 for when the person that reply's to lower reviews say they are sorry for the bad service and lets discuss. Looks like that gets said a lot but...
