We've been watching Bosque Norte go up in Bernalillo over the past year, and highly anticipated our introductory visit when the first photos of the soft opening started coming in on Instagram. Our expectations were mostly fulfilled. The entrance is still goofy with all the bridgework and road construction on 550, so you can only enter the parking lot from the westbound lane. The lower petio is easy to find and offers an incredible view of the Sandia Mountains with plenty of covered seating. The upper patio promises another gorgeous vantage of the riverside Bosque, but no pups are allowed to use the stairs in the tap room. We knew the beer would not disappoint as we already had some favorites from the expert brewer's menu- IPA and Oatmeal Stout, also American Brown. It was awesome to experience their shiny new production line through the large glass wall inside the tap room. The service was fast and friendly, and it was easy to spend a couple of hours taking in the sights with some scrumptious food selections. The self-service lunch counter inside can add your meal to your bar tab, and cooks up everything fresh to order. Green chile cheeseburgers are very good, but a little pricey at $13. The wings were meaty and done just right with a Buffalo kick. Yuca fries are a special treat with two different green chile dipping sauces. If you ask nicely, the kitchen can smother the fried yuca or potato sticks with green chile and cheese for an added kick. It's wonderful to see everything served in biodegradable paper and the scraps separated for composting. We've been to Bosque Norte twice now and will definitely be back. We're really looking forward to the construction crews and nearby port-a-potties being moved out in the coming weeks. A new community river walk is being planned just steps away, so that will make this place a complete New Mexico attraction for visitors and...
Read moreVery interesting experience yesterday.. I ordered some tacos for the first time after having great experiences at all other locations and I was served chicken on tortillas with some sour cream... No pico. The kitchen was not kind enough to let their people on the floor that they were out of pico. What's more (to me), is that no one went to the store to get additional supplies as pico is typically very simple and straightforward and is on the vast majority of the menu. There are 5 different grocery stores nearby. Why did no one go get supplies once it was realized they were out? Poor kitchen management.
WHAT IS MORE, was that I was still charged for the tacos lol the bartender felt bad and gave us a round of beers and sent us home with a couple pints in a small growler. (Josh is obviously not from around here because locals don't feel bad or feel the need to make up for mistakes that their team mates or company makes.) I would have preferred the money back and a comped meal to more beer.
There was also an extremely rude 'lead' waitress (larger/heavyset lady) who was barking orders that were obviously wrong and generally not being a great person to work with. She very obviously made the people around her uncomfortable, including customers outside of myself and my husband.
I believe the brewer needs to take a closer look at their Riverwalker after it's been tapped a few days. There is a sour/rancid taste after a certain amount of time. Not any people can taste it but it is very strong and disgusting on my pallet. I went to public house on Saturday and was told they tapped it that day and it was effing perfect. My beer yesterday at North was starting to go, did not have a chance to ask Josh when it was tapped. This was my primary beer overall but I'm now looking for...

I've driven by here many times and finally decided to check it out around 12:30p.m. on a Saturday with three others. Walked to up to the gentleman inside the front door to be seated and was told the kitchen was backed up and we couldn't even put a food order in for 45 minutes. Disappointing, but understandable since the world is understaffed.
We asked if we could just get an appetizer (chips and salsa) and were told that we also couldn't order that for 45 min. Weird. Anyway, we decided to stay for a drink and asked to be seated outside. The only empty table was half in the sun which was uncomfortably hot, so we all sat on one side of the table like the "Last Supper". It was a little frustrating especially since there were shade curtains on the deck but for some reason no one would put them down. Others were having issues with the sun as well, which could easily have been fixed by dropping the curtains that were present. The business did not seem interested in doing this.
We sit there for ~10 minutes and a waiter approaches and asks for our order. We order our beers and he asks "what about food?". We say, "well, the guy up front says we cannot order for 45 minutes yet". The waiter looks at us confused and says he hasn't heard that and that he can take our order. Great! He takes our order (chips and salsa, chili cheese fries, beer) and leaves. Less than 5 minutes later (really fast) our food appears, with beers to follow 5 minutes after. What happened to that wait? Confusing.
The food was good. The waitstaff were friendly. The beer was cold. If it weren't for the confusing front desk guy and the inability to adapt to the sun, this would have...
