The decor: I really liked the classic Sailor Jerry tattoo vibe going on here, lots of cool stuff painted on the wall, but very classy, and nice seating arrangements. Very bright and pleasant space. The menu is pretty big, so I suggest deciding what you want online before you go, I didn't, and definitely should have.
The Staff: I met one of the owners Mohammad, very nice guy, he was patient with my questions, and he helped me make my decisions, even though I was a bit unprepared, haha. The cook in the kitchen was also nice, not a lot of hands on deck, but they make a great team, and awesome food.
Everything I got:
Shwarma wrap platter: The wrap was cut in two, then cut into individual bites, and it was definitely great for dipping and less mess. The chicken was delicious, tender, well marinated, and seasoned perfectly. It came with pickles, coleslaw, and tomato, with fries on the side. I'm not a slaw guy, so I didn't indulge, but those pickles were really good. But lemme tell you about the fries. Those fries were outta this world. Like if boardwalk fries and steak fries had a baby. They were light, crisp, but also substantial, honestly best fries I've had in the area, sorry Thrashers.
Falafel on pita: It was also good. The only odd thing was the cutting up of the falafel balls. That caught me off guard a bit, but it was good, just different.
The sauces: The Garlic sauce is really good, I could eat that on anything honestly. And with the portion given, you can, so extra points for that. The Grilliez signature sauce is also good, but the Garlic sauce is a winner.
Strawberry smoothie: Delicious, refreshing, and full of flavor. It tastes like a fruit roll up in the best way, and I would highly recommend it if you like nostalgic tastes.
Overall, I'd say give Grilliez a try if you want something different than your typical shore sandwich shop experience. It's a bit tucked away off the main strip of coastal highway, but in my opinion, worth the trip. They're a newer restaurant (8 months when I wrote this), so please tell a friend about this place, if you enjoy the food. Support...
Read moreMy dad and I stopped into Grilliez a couple of weeks ago for lunch. Service was fantastic, the man who took our order was very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The place was clean and is pretty small, though there is outdoor seating as well. We ordered shawarma wrap platters which were extremely generous in portion size. One platter could have easily fed the both of us. The food was hot, fresh and flavorful. The garlic sauce is bomb, a nice little creamy kick to add to pretty much anything you dip in it. But the star of the show was the fries. Not sure what they're doing with those fries but Dad and I both agreed they were some of the best we've had at the beach. And that includes Thrasher's. They were even fantastic reheated in the oven the next day, and y'all know that rarely happens with fries. Highly recommend visiting Grilliez if you're in the OC/Fenwick area, you won't regret it! We'll be back to try more...
Read moreI used to live in Anne Arundel County Maryland before I moved out here and I frequented a local cheese steak shop since I was in middle school, about a decade. I went to Grilliez ONCE, about half an hour before closing, and I can say without a doubt just after that I knew they make the BEST hot sandwiches I'll ever have. My whole family tried their food for the first time and I can say we are fans from here on out, plus we're extremely happy they are just down the block, so we got dinner from there again last night! We'll be buying from here for as long as we can. If you need a hot comforting, familiar meal, this place will never...
