This place is a JOKE. The "charcuterie" was 3 small slices of grocery store salami, prosciutto, and coppa, with Ritz crackers, wax cheddar and pecorino, cheap Gouda, and a small wedge of brie. $27. The shrimp and grits...where to even start. The grits weren't even seasoned! Bland and boring with WAY too much pepper in the shrimp sauce and only 4 depressing sized shrimp. $24. Now let's talk about my 5 oz burger. Aside from the bun (which was slathered in butter and improperly toasted) the burger, which is pictured for proof, was ordered medium and came out RAW!!! So happy that I made it to my room before vomiting ☺️🙄. Nothing better than paying for food poisoning because an "executive chef" doesn't know how to bring hamburger to temperature. At least the green beans were good, probably because they came out of a can and were boiled in the can water. $22. The only good part of this meal was the desert... BUT WAIT! Turns out the desert is store bought. Probably why it was the best part of our meal.

Our server Rachel was amazing truly the only enjoyable part of our $95 experience. She was beautiful, bright, attentive, patient, and compassionate. I would never eat here again, however, when she inevitably ends up at another (much better and more ethical) restaurant, we would happily travel to see her again.

I wish I could not only leave 0 stars but, report anyone who gave this POS a decent review because they either have no business reviewing food or were coerced to leave a good review. DO NOT EAT HERE. YOU WILL GET SICK. FROM THE FOOD...

SO DISAPPOINTING! Please save your money and time!! DO NOT GO HERE! I was expecting this place to be a great and romantic dinner for me and my husband, although the venue was pretty nice our experience quickly turned sour when we were served a raw burger, the portions were absolutely tiny for dinner, prices were outrageous for the tasteless and bland food they served. Even there dessert that tasted decent we asked and turned out to be frozen! Our server was absolutely the best part, but was running around doing all of the work, serving multiple tables AND cleaning all of them, as well as running the food! While the other workers were behind the bar laughing and joking around. NEVER GOING BACK! You have lost our business forever and hope to make sure to tell everyone not to waste there money or risk getting food...

I got the bone in pork chop with garlic, mashed potatoes and breaded asparagus. I overheard the bartender, telling another patron at the bar where I was sitting that the bone in pork chop is “fall off the bone“. So I ordered it. When it was brought to me, I was a little leery, because at first glance looking at the chop it looked like there was very little moisture to it. as soon as I try to cut into it, my fears were true as it was extremely overcooked and dry. It tasted fine, but it certainly wasn’t fall off the bone. I ate it anyway, but did mention it to the bartender. They never offered to take anything off my bill. What they did is give me my drink for free. I would try this place again, but I would hope in the future , if the food was not to my liking, something more appropriate would be...

[July 10-16] I spent a week at the Hampton Inn, Tutwiler Hotel in Birmingham and visited The Six Sixteen a few of my evenings. Every night was a wonderful experience. I had a chance to get to know the owner (Mrs Beverly), the bartender (Mr Leonard) and several other staff (Rachael) who were all great. The food , drink, and vibe are amazing, but the history and story of this business even more so. We had dinner here several nights and they did the catering for two breakfasts and a brunch. The food was delicious (well seasoned and fresh) Birmingham born and raised, this is a true local and historic business that deserves your business when you are in B’ham. Thank you for all of the wonderful hospitality you guys showed our group.

We spent the night at the Hilton in Birmingham last night and had dinner here out of timing and convenience. The restaurant is hands down one of the most comfortable environments we’ve dined in. The family owned business is run by Father daughter mother sister etc - the nachos and wings were excellent!! And the nachos were EVENLY layered with toppings, the way they always should be so you don’t have a bowl of plain chips after three bites! Seating was elegant, the entire design of interiors is beautiful. Grateful to have had such a nice evening in the city. We will go back if given the opportunity! Curious why it is named The Six Sixteen though. We forgot to ask!
