I just had lunch at Bridge House BBQ, and as a multiple award winning amateur BBQ competitor, I was quite impressed! I ordered the Brisket Tray with baked beans and cornbread. The beans were thick and rich, the cornbread sweet and lightly grilled. As a bonus, the butter was SOFT and didn't just come from the cooler, so it didn't shred the cornbread! The Brisket had a great smoke ring. Ot held together when held, but still pulled apart easily. The smoke flavor was there but didn't overpower the meat. I also had a sausage link. It was delicious with a great snap when you bit into it. I tried two sauces, their Maple Bourbon and Carolina style. The Carolina was spot on, the Maple was a bit heavy on the Maple flavor and light on the Bourbon for my taste. They are both made in-house. As for the service, the tray came with wooden utensils. I have a sensory issue with wood and my mouth. I can't eat Popsicles or stand toung depressers. When I mentioned this to my server, she immediately called back to the kitchen, and they brought out a metal knife and fork!!! I will definitely be...
Read moreIt's rare that a meal is so bad I've had to throw it out, but this lobster roll and mac were inedible. Such a shame because the place that used to be located in this spot was amazing!
Lobster: Old meat, bits weren't chopped. At best, it was reheated on a griddle and was rubbery. Served on a stale, 8-12" hot dog bun. No split top bun here. Paid $29 for this garbage... $7 more than most spots in town.
Mac and cheese: Wayyy overcooked. Had the consistency of mashed potatoes. The cheesy flavor was sort of there, but something sweet was mixed in that threw the entire thing off. I want to say it was dusted in brown sugar? As someone from the south, this Mac and cheese was a disgrace.
All in all, my partner and I paid $80+ for food we couldn't stomach. You've...
Read moreFunny enough, one of my favorite meals in Maine and we had zero Lobster. Being from the south, I didn't expect BBQ this good in the Northeast.
Food was delicious! They were out of the brisket that day, so we got the ribs and wings. Ribs were some of the best I've ever had. The wings were good as well, but not as stellar.
We also tried most of the sides- Mac and Cheese, Baked Beans, Salt Potatoes, cole slaw, smoked corn on the cob, and the corn bread. The only thing that was somewhat underwhelming was the Mac and Cheese. Everything else was great.
The service was great as well, and super friendly. The little patio area right beside the brewery was the perfect spot for a beautiful day. I'll be thinking about this meal...
