Beautiful restaurant, good food, but extremely pompous and arrogant attitude. Do not expect to see this location last another 24 months. Have visited the Boston location many times throughout the years for lunch while working in the Back Bay, have always been pleased with their food and service. Have on more than one occasion worn a hat at this location both at the bar, lounge and dining room with no hassles. Had lunch at the Braintree location on Thursday 11/1/2018, sat at a booth near the bar wearing a hat and had a fine meal with no hassles. Returned on Monday 11/12/2018 for lunch with a party of three and immediately were treated as inferior, asked (in a nearly empty restaurant at lunch on a Holiday) if we had reservations, we stated we did not, and received a response of "OH Walk INS"! Was asked for my last name (once again no wait with empty dining room in an extremely packed mall on a holiday), the 4 or so booths at the bar were taken and two tables in the dining room, we were seated, drink orders taken, then asked to remove our hats by one of the two rude Hostesses. Two of us were wearing hats, one removed their cap, I went to the rest room and returned to be greeted by the Manager once again requesting me to remove my hat, at this point we picked up our coats and left. There is no dress code posted, this was lunch time in a Mall location, at this location in the daytime this establishment if it expects to last needs to drop the air of arrogance and entitlement and start treating paying customers with good service, good food, appreciation and respect!!! In the evenings for dinner in the main dining room I could or would expect this, but after recently reading your reviews if Steve DiFillippo is more concerned with appearance and not customers, reviews like this will continue to pile in and the hype of a new location will wear off and your dining room will continue to be as empty as it was today when my party left. I was not asked to leave, I chose to. I have read Yelp reviews from Chris R from San Francisco 1/26/2018 their party being denied service due to someone wearing a hat. CT Boston 1/27/2018 party of 7 refused service once again due to a hat. Kim T. Milton, Ma 9/19/2018 party of 7 teen sons Birthday dinner and teen refused a cheeseburger, burgers only served at the bar in the evening so the party of 7 left. The most heartbreaking was from back on 8/2015 at Foxboro when someone whom was undergoing chemo and had hair loss was forced to remove their cap causing shame and embarrassment, shame on this establishment and Steve DiFillippo. I know you have worked hard to create a fine (possibly) establishment, but your approach is failing and you have lost dozens of fine customers, thousands of dollars in business and untold loss of good will. Hats off to you and your...

Davios Restaurant is living up to its name with its new location at the Braintree MallThe word experience gets tossed around a little too easily these days, so Davio’s is reclaiming it. There’s no doubt that the entire operation is overseen by it founder, the chefs and others, but THE Managers set the stone starting with a warmth and welcoming attitude from Matthew Del Pappa the General Manager of the Braintree location. Tuesday October 2,2018 was my wife B-day(Jessica Maurice) and I was pondering on how to make it special, then she said that she wants to have dinner at DAVIO’S and made a reservation there on her own. I followed up with an email found on their website addressed “To Whom It May Concern” within hours, I got an answer back from the General Manger of that location wanting to chat, so we did. The journey started from there and he (Matthew Del Pappa_) turned it into an unforgettable experience by getting the Pastry Chef Kristen Stott involved when I mentioned that my wife is on a dairy free/cheese free diet (sorry for the repetitive wording, but it’s worth it) where she went on to make all kind of suggestions for Birthday cakes; we settled in one the will be made out chocolate and peanut butter frosting, something that should be showcased going forward. It was to die for, every bite taste dynamic and delicious, she’s still enjoying the left over afterward. You’re all know the menu is diverse, expertly prepared, the servers are well trained and display a welcoming attitude which makes the whole dining experience a theme. Needless to say that I have a soft spot for DAVIO’S, so should you.
Once again, thank you Matthew Del Pappa ( The General Manger)and Thank you Kristen Stott ( The Pastry Chef). You made my wife B-day the...
Read moreI have mixed feelings. I went to Davios at the Seaport the Saturday before Easter Sunday 2021. Ordered the Bologenese tagliatelle. It was placed in a white bowl, lot of meat chunks, and each pasta string was soft. There was so much, my husband had some after his steak and I still had leftovers to take home. I hadn't realized there was another Davios 10 min from me. I was so excited!😁
I kept thinking how great the food was at the Seaport, and I wouldn't mind eating at the Braintree location once a month or more. I normally go to cheesecake bc it's the same portion for the price no matter which cheesecake you go to. I ordered the same Bologenese tagliatelle for $27 and a few other items with tip so my bill was over $80, and I swear, things weren't right. The portion felt like I had a lunch size meal bc I actually finished it in one sitting, the pasta was gummy and most pieces stuck together like 4-5 strings which means that either it wasn't stirred throughout to keep it from clumping or most likely, while it was drained, it was left in the strainer far too long and not mixed with the sauce to keep the noodles from clumping together. Do you remember the 80s commercial, "where's the beef"? Yup, same thing. Hardly noticed any meat in it and it was so finely minced. The sauce wasn't as yummy as it was at the Seaport. Too sweet and salty. Gosh, Bologenese is one of those dishes that proves skill. I'll just have to wait until my next hair appointment at the Seaport to eat in that location. Maybe the portion is at value for $27 when you eat in and placed in that bowl?
I went to Braintree location on a Friday evening at 5. The dining room was cricket empty, and 5 people at the bar so you can't say that they were so busy to screw up this order. Won't be going back to...
