I'll start with the bad and end with the good. I asked before ordering if there was relish in the tuna salad. I was told no, there isn't. I got it, took a bite and discovered it has relish in it. I asked if there was bacon in the mashed potato salad (I'm a vegetarian). I was told no there isn't. I got it, took a bite and discovered there was bacon in it. First the server tried to tell me a piece of bacon must have fallen into it. I knew that couldn't be the case because as I looked through the salad after that bite, I kept finding it. When the server went in back to check on the ingredients, it turns out both things I asked about are part of the ingredient list. The staff kept telling me they must be having an off day. I didn't make a big deal out of it but here's the thing, I feel like I should of had something comped. At the very least my iced tea. That's just good business after striking out on two of the two things I ordered and asked about before ordering. There is reasons why people ask about ingredients before ordering and had I been allergic to either of these things there would have been a problem. My constructive advice to the owners is to instruct your staff to always double check ingredients that they are being asked about. This is an easy way to prevent potential medical problems or bad experiences for customers. Remember- people usually are far more quick to share bad experiences then good. The good was that the staff was very friendly and warm and I loved the ambiance of the place. It's quirky and cozy which is why we went there. I probably wouldn't go again only because as a vegetarian there was only grilled cheese as an option. Perhaps leave the bacon out of the soup and mashed potato salad and just make it an add in per order? Just...
Read moreI needed something to eat after being too busy today! So many food options and I remembered an old favorite, the Red Mule Pub! That’s it! I had chosen where I wanted to eat. I sure am glad I remembered this hidden gem. I love the subs and sandwiches. Meat is always stacked high! One of the best deli style pubs around the tri-county area. To be honest, I forgot the name of the sub I had! I think it is called the Pub Sub. Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham, Salami and Bologna, Provolone, Lettuce and Tomato on a soft sub roll! I added mayo and it comes with a sub oil! Delish!!! I did not leave hungry! This thing is a beast of a sandwich. Fresh and a favorite! I also recommend their Rueben’s! It is what I usually get (Corned Beef on Rye version). Give it a try! This was a high school hangout for me back in the day. I love the memorabilia and atmosphere. They also serve Mr. Browns Root Beer and Cream Soda to wash down your favorite sandwich. Beer is also available. They started offering daily specials too. Call to see what they are! The staff was delightful and each helped each other for the maximum dining experience. Five stars from...
Read more5 stars for the food. 5 stars for the young woman working the grill. 2 stars from my server; a young petit woman with oversized glasses. She could benefit from a little self humbling.
With my draft mostly full, she printed out my bill & placed a large styrofoam take-out container at the bar where I was seated; having eaten only 1/2 my sandwich. It was about 4 PM with only 2 other patrons.
As I paid for my order, I asked if I could offer a suggestion. I briefly and kindly stated that instead of explaining why the pub does not allow patrons or employees to access their wifi, she could've just as well informed me that wifi's not available. The young server's defensive response was that most ask why. I hadn't asked why. I just asked if they had wifi.
I don't think it reflects all that good for dining in of how law enforcement had to show up because somebody was using the wifi for nefarious reasons.
So now, I'll place to go orders. That way the woman on the grill will receive my 20% plus...
