When my boyfriend and I saw this place advertised as āThai and Laoā we were extremely excited to have a Laos restaurant nearby as there are not many around. We were soon very disappointed that it was not authentic Lao food. We wish they would advertise what they really are because we were expecting something else. We still wanted to give it a try because we love trying new cuisines. Unfortunately, were disappointed again. The decor was really cute. Their customer service was great when we went to order. The items we wanted to try were only available on the weekend. We ordered the fungus salad which was very tasty. The bad thing about it was the shrimp tasted undercooked.. they were squishy and tough. We also ordered the papaya salad but something about it tasted off. The last thing we ordered was pad see ew which was lacking flavor and the noodles were a bit too hard. We told ourselves we would give it another chance and try other things on the menu another time because maybe we just ordered the wrong things. Fast forward to last week when my brother went to order food and offered to bring me some. He told them they had āLao phoā available that day so I decided to try that. I do not want to be offensive but it was honestly inedible. It was extremely salty and it was 100% not Laos pho. The broth was very dark and I know Laos pho is clear. It is very similar to Vietnamese pho with slight differences. After this experience I do not think we will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can't believe I almost forgot to share one of my new favorite go-to spots! š³ If you're ever in Buford (off exit 8 on 985), you have to check out SALLY'S KITCHEN THAI AND LAO. My cousin @joe_hall01 was raving about this place not long after they opened, and after my first visit, I totally get why! š
Every dish I've tried here has been nothing short of amazing. Their BEEF PHO, PAD SEE EW, DRUNKEN NOODLES, FRIED RICE, SPRING ROLLS, EGG ROLLS, MEATBALLS, CURRY... the list goes on and on. š¤¤
Now, the pictures might not do the food justice because the dining area has that cozy, dim lighting, and I donāt always carry the gear I should for the perfect shot. š But trust me, the food speaks for itself!
The service is super polite, and the prices? Most dishes are around $13-$15. My favorite Pad See Ew plate is just $13āthirteen!! And no worries about parking; thereās a whole strip of stores and restaurants. š
I donāt often repeat places because thereās just so much out there to try, but when I need a guaranteed good meal after a tough day or week, Sally's is where I'm heading. šÆ
I highly recommend you give them a try and let me know what you think!

Edit: Their pork belly isn't often on their specials but when available you should check them out if you're a fan of pork belly! Perfectly fried and they go well with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to be as fair as possible. The staff is nice, the restaurant is clean. Other thingsā¦could use improvement in my opinion. When I got there, the computer system was down so they couldnāt take credit card. I suggested Zelle, which they said was alright. I gave a decent tip through Zelle as well, before even sitting down to eat the food. The pad thai came out, and it was looking pretty small. It also turned out to be REALLY REALLY salty and oversauced. For the amount of tamarind, they should have put in twice as much noodles and vegetables. I drank the entire Publix bottle of water they gave me, trying to deal with the salt. (They said the fountain machine was down..?). So imagine my shock when I asked for another bottle of water, and was told no.
A bottle of Publix water canāt be more than 75 cents, tops. Youāre telling me that my first time visit, tip, and future patronage is not worth a second water bottle? Iām not trying to mess with your bottom line. Iām trying to mitigate the amount of salt I just ingested. It is offensive to be denied water, at a RESTAURANT.
The firecracker shrimp rolls are good, though. However, Iām afraid I wonāt be...
