Road Trip Bar & Grill — Restaurant in California

On our way to a camping trip in Mendocino County, we stopped at Roadtrip Bar and Grill, a charming roadside spot offering a wide variety of American favorites. Among their offerings, the barbecue brisket sandwich seemed to be a crowd favorite.

Upon arrival, we were seated next to a party with numerous noisy children. Fortunately, the waitresses were accommodating and let us move to another section of the restaurant without any fuss.

I ordered a club sandwich, which was served on grilled sourdough bread. Unfortunately, while one side of my sandwich was perfectly grilled, the other side wasn't grilled at all. I had requested onion rings with my sandwich, but both items were initially served cold and unappetizing. However, the server was kind enough to replace my sandwich without any hassle. It was evident that my original order hadn't been cooked properly, but once I received a hot, fully cooked sandwich and hot onion rings, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

Despite this hiccup, everyone else in our party enjoyed their food. The service was great, the interior was clean, and the bathroom was well-maintained. Given that Roadtrip Bar and Grill is a small establishment off a country road between a major California thoroughfare and a beach getaway, it exceeded our expectations.

Additionally, they have a huge parking area that easily accommodated our RV and truck pulling a trailer. Ten more groups with similar setups could have parked there without any difficulty. The restaurant also features a large outdoor dining patio, substantial indoor dining space, bar seating, and some sort of attached shop that I didn't visit.

Our first visit. Came on a Thursday. Everyone was friendly. Nice people. Only visited its great outdoor, well-shaded patio to grab a bite, a cool drink and enjoy the live music, so cannot comment on the dining room. Bathrooms were clean, and hand sanitizers were placed outside for public use. Waitress not only provided superb service, but was a sweetheart as well. She was attentive, personable, but not intrusive.

Ordered the Thursday night $1.00 Burgers and $1.00 Fries specials. Also ordered a basket of onion rings to share which were just okay. All-in-all, a great value for the money. One of the best margaritas I've had in a very long time. Soft drinks were so large no one required refills. Unfortunately, it was out of its famous berry dessert. Would like to try some of its other tasty-looking menu offerings upon our next visit.

Tables and chairs were a bit on the dusty side and got all over the back of my clothes, but nothing that won't come out in the wash. Only other concern was the band, Crossman Connection. Very much enjoyed their music and harmonies until . . . heard the "B" word applied to a female politician. I see music as something that transcends ideology; something that has the power to brings us together, not divide us. I have been coming here for a while riding Motorcycles with friends to this place for breakfast and lunch and bringing my family members here as well so my wife and I wanted to try dinner so we did we loved it so we have been doing this for awhile we brought our family with us so they can give it a try and we are not driving from down the road we are 1hour out. We all had a wonderful dinner. Major problem. The waitress told us the people sitting next to us paid for our dinner. We all said cool deal as we have paid for other people's food as well. So we thought we were going to leave the waitress a nice tip. Then she came back and said she paid for our meal. Cool deal again, we were gonna leave another nice tip. Then she came back and said no, there was a mistake. And gave us our bill after sitting there for about 45 minutes. Waiting for her to figure out what the heck she was doing. We absolutely love riding our motorcycles with our group. To come there for a beverage and food and bring in our family members to have Food and beverage, but this kind of stuff makes you want to drive right past. I for sure hope this is...
