I’m a frequent customer of this restaurant, but it’s definitely not because of the service.
This restaurant has several options to chose from... and I mean several as in pages of options filled top to bottom. You can find several meat, veggie, and seafood options. Your typical Japanese fare is present here, from Tempura to more than 25 different kinds of sushi.
The food is good, I almost always get the hibachi steak and chicken, as the lunch value is incredible. The portion sizes are big and I have always left full, which I can’t say about many restaurant’s lunch offerings. The steak is usually cooked just how you ask (you can chose how you want it), and the rice is good, although just a bit too saturated with soy sauce. If you can find time to come in during lunch time (10am-2pm) you would get the best value from this restaurant.
My least favorite part of this restaurant is the service. Expect succinct and matter of fact treatment. They’ll take you to your table, as for drinks and leave, only coming back to take your order and then to give you your check. In the times I’ve been here I’ve never seen a smile on a worker, not even while they were taking my order.
The food is definitely what keeps me coming back. As mentioned, the food is cooked well, tastes good, portion sizes are great and so is the value for the lunch offerings. Just don’t expect 5 star (or 3 star)...
Read moreNew management at Midori in Cape is nothing short of a circus. When you can’t provide the simple service of pacing a meal on Valentine’s Day for my wife and I to enjoy the little time we get together lately I will say something. Buyer beware. The owner doesn’t even empower their own manager to take care of a guest with a valid concern. Instead makes up excuses and tries to tell me I am a thief for refusing to pay for food that sat and got cold on my table while we patiently waited for her food to show up because they were behind. My plate sat on the table for 15 minutes while my wife waited for food from the sushi bar. I was hoping new management/ownership would improve the restaurant. Instead it was the same thing we've dealt with in the past. Underperformance, excuses, and a "manager" who isn't allowed to make it right for the customer. I've been in the restaurant business for almost 25 years. This was a pathetic excuse for a Valentine's Day/Birthday Lunch date with my wife. Your babysitter aka "the manager" was no where to be found on the floor while the 2 servers ran their butts off around the restaurant.
Amanda the server was trying her best but was ill-equipped or improperly trained, but that seems to be par for the course after my interaction with the person in charge.
Needless to say we won’t...
Read moreVisited from out of town to celebrate a graduation on 5-8-25. Closing time was advertised as 9 pm. We arrived at 7:50 and was informed by the hostess that they were about to close in "45 minutes". After insisting that 1 hour and 10 mins was plenty of time for us to eat, the hostess, visibly upset, turned and walked to a table while shaking her head and announcing to the other employees that we were eating. There were several other groups in the restaurant eating. The hostess returned to the door and turned several other groups around, saying they were about to close, then continued to make our presence known to every staff member they could. It made for an uncountable experience. Fortunately the server was friendly, took our order, we ate and paid with 15 minutes to spare. Others were still eating when we left. Maybe consider a sign saying that this restaurant doesn't seat people after 7:45? The owner / operator lost money from several groups of...
