This was our first visit. The reviews had me excited as I love Mexican food. The staff were friendly and explained what to do as soon as we walked up. The Resturant was clean and the food candy out quickly. However, this is not authentic Mexican food. The set up is different then expected. You order your food, they give you a number, and they bring the food to you. While you wait you have your chips and a bar of different salsas to try. Personally, I thought the food was bland. Not seasoned in the way I expect Mexican food to be seasoned. I don’t recommended getting the grilled shrimp tacos and I don’t recommend adding the pinto beans and rice. The make your own burrito was a little more seasoned, but not at the level we were use to having from Mexican restaurants. There was a steady crowd that came in for dine and take out. So maybe it’s just me. I will not be returning, but you can try it for yourself as half the tables were full and folks were steady picking up to go order.

We ordered Flaming Amy's via online ordering through a partner platform. You do pay more than the prices on their website when doing online pickup. They have changed their menu so not everything is available. We ordered a burrito, queso, and two tacos. One of the tacos ordered was the fried avocado taco. They called after we placed our order to let us know they discontinued this and let me sub for another flounder taco. The overall food was great. The pickup time quoted wasn't accurate. It took at least another ten minutes after quoted for the food to be ready. There weren't many people here but only a few people working. We weren't in a rush so that was ok. The food is prepared in tin foil which makes the steam from the tacos trapped and the shell gets stuck to the foil. It was hard to eat the taco without making a mess everywhere. Napkins or utensils were not provided in our order.

It was my first time here and at first I was skeptical. No one came to help me after a few minutes standing I saw a girl on her phone in the office area. Might have been a shift change because a woman walked in with her bags and immediately came over to take my order. She was so friendly and offered suggestions which were really helpful! Super quick to get my order. I got takeout but they had a large dining area and outdoor seating. The salsa bar is endless and had multiple options. The Amy’s salsa and pineapple were my favorites. I ordered the Thai Mee Up burrito which was good, I really liked the sauce on it. Chicken had a weird texture so next time I may try a different protein option. Spicy black bean queso was on special so I decided to try it. It’s SO good. Definitely get that. The chip bag was full to the top and they were crispy and salty. Yum.

We decided to eat here for my wife's birthday because of all of the great reviews. I'm convinced that these are fake reviews or else people have no taste buds. I have a simple palette and I don't need a fancy 5 store restaurant to enjoy a meal. We should have known when we first walked in that is would be a disaster. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy. Everything looked "dingy" and worn. I wasn't expecting it to look brand new, but it definitely looked dreary and could use an update or a deep cleaning. The cashier was friendly and welcoming so I have no complaints about the employees. But the food was horrible. We had a party of 5 and everyone complained about the same things. The beef and chicken were barely luke warm. We have never tasted ANY kind of meat ANYWHERE that was as bland as this. No seasoning at all. It was like eating plain paper. That's how bland it was. And then all of the other ingredients were cold to the point they were almost frozen. The shells were soggy as well. Say what you will about Taco Bell and I know it's not considered high quality food BUT at least Taco Bell is tasty and flavorful and is a thousand times tastier than the slop we were served. This is why I keep scratching my head why so many people rave about the food here. Really? How? The bill came to $65 for 3 kids and 2 adults which isn't bad for a restaurant BUT for the quality of the food it was...

Food here was just ok. It was good enough but forgettable. It's not like I bit into my burrito and was like oh wow this is great. This was first thing I ate all day and it was 6pm so whatever I ate should have tasted amazing. This was just ehh. Service was friendly. The girls working all looked like they were having fun and enjoy their jobs, which was nice to see. I really didn't believe the reviews when people said it took 30-40 minutes for their food. But it is true. I waited about 30-35 min for 1 burrito. I know everyone is short staffed, plus the man in front of me ordered like 1 of everything off the menu so that that made the wait longer too. I didn't really care about the wait, but if you're in a hurry maybe don't go here or order online so it's ready, or almost ready, when you get there. My burrito was the fajita burrito with shrimp. I also added rice and corn. It was pretty bland. I had some of the pineapple salsa so I added that to it, it made it a little better but again, nothing fabulous. The shrimp was boring, but there was a good amount of it. Oh the grossest part was the lettuce. If I would order from here again I'd make sure to ask for no lettuce. Nothing like a giant bite of warm wilted lettuce to ruin a meal. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but idk. Big burritos but...

I’ve seen the Flaming Amy’s stickers all over the state for years and have always wanted to try it but never lived close enough. I finally found myself at Carolina Beach and saw there was one nearby so I had to try it. Although the service was decent, it took more than 30 minutes to place our order, and another hour to even get it. I’ve never had a burrito with grilled ingredients that was cold. There were heaps of unmelted shredded cheese that went straight from a preshredded bag into the burrito. That’s basically all I could taste the entire time and couldn’t eat but maybe 1/3 of it. How does that even happen? Even at larger cantina style places, you can literally see them put cold cheese on and it still melts before you have time to open it. There wasn’t even an attempt to put hot ingredients in. My father in law ordered a shrimp burrito. Half of the shrimp were still raw and blue, while the other half were barely steamed/boiled while they claim to be grilled. If you’re so busy that you can’t fully cook the food, what’s the point? The only person who got a halfway decent meal ordered a quesadilla, I thought this was a burrito joint? Glad I filled up on chips and salsa during my hour wait. Unfortunately left very disappointed, but I feel much better about living 3.5hrs away from...
