This "Japanese" restaurant is owned and managed by Korean owner as it is located right in the middle of korean town.
I had the Sunday sushi omakaze.
Staffs including sushi men and waitress were super friendly and I could not expect anything better from any other japanese restaurants.
The frozen fishes were properly thawed and prepared nearly perfect for sushi. however, the sushi rice (meshi) was under cooked, not firmly cooked as it is supposed to be. And it was mixed with cal rose (medium grain rice) and short grain which is OK but not acceptable for $70 lunch.
I would have been happy if the sushi was top tier even if the variety and amount of food served was less than my expectations for "an Omikaze."
Kura sushi (conveyor belt sushi) right down the block serves 10x better sushi at less than 1/2 the price with 100% short grain sushi rice properly vinegared and sweetened, allthough the amount of fish served is compromised for their price.
Just go to Kura sushi and eat more.
Trust me, you should never go to a sushi bar that is not owned, managed and operated by Japanese.

Read moreSmall place. Great service. Loved the bar seating. Chefs were very kind and even offered us his favorite handroll for free.
Handrolls: [ ] TNT: creamy and delicious. [ ] Hamachi jalapeño: hamachi was smooth. Basic, but tried and tested. [ ] Seared salmon belly: not too smoky at all. Welcome surprise. Salmon was slightly bitter [ ] Spider: meh [ ] Rainforest: meh [ ] Kanpachi*: very smooth. Highly recommend. Ikura's saltiness contributed to the balance [ ] Wagyu and uni: underwhelming. Couldn't really taste the wagyu. Would try salmon and uni instead
Side: [ ] Honey butter fries: beyond basic. Pretty good.
Cold plate: [ ] Madai sea breeze: do not be deterred by the scales! The pear lended masterfully to the fish. It actually camouflaged against the color of the madai
Nigiri: [ ] Salmon: lacked flavor [ ] Yellowtail: flavorful and tender. [ ] Madai: lacked flavor. Could taste the rice more than the fish. [ ] Toro*: so good. Made up for the salmon and madai
Tip: look into what theyâre specials are. I think they have $5 hand rolls on Tuesday or...
