Generic Pizza Poorly Done There is nothing to this pizza that separates it from a generic preparation of the dish. The large pizza was a house special I wouldn't claim were it my house. The first thing I noticed was all the toppings were plopped or gathered toward the center leaving a wide empty ring around the outside save a few lonely pepperoni slices and cheese. The empty ring directing my attention to the incomplete cuts all the way around that stopped at the wide crust. C'mon! You can't even cut it right. The toppings were almost minced and there was some brown stuff that I could only assume was mushroom. It reminded me of a grocery store brand frozen pizza application of toppings. The fire in the oven is all wrong falling short on the top of the pizza. The pepperoni slices were lying flat and looking towards being under cooked. There were no signs of browning edges or the slices cupping upward. The crust was over cooked with some pretty dark places and no signs of even cooking. Also ordered was a side of fried mushrooms that were also generic most likely purchased in a bulk frozen bag served with a watered down ranch dipping obviously made from a powdered mix. It may be Angelo's restaurant but the pizza is not unique to him. I can do the same thing with grocery store frozen pizza. Typical for this area because there is no real competition. There is no one near by turning out much better or this place would be out...
Read moreI am so amazed that this place has less than 4 stars?!!! We were heading home to Huntsville from Atlanta and were starving. Hoping for something quick, someone found 6's on Google. We walked in and were blown away by a scream-o band and $10 (per person, 4 of us total) cover charge. All we wanted was good, quick food. It was 9:37 pm and the bouncer suggested we walk over to Angelo's. Saw that they closed at 10 pm.. we all have worked in serving and felt horrible to even walk through the doors. We started by acknowledging they close in 23 minutes and we don't want to be a burden. They encouraged us to take a seat and called us crazy! Tiffany took such good care of us! We each had a beer or glass of wine and I ordered the fried ravioli appetizer. The cook made us 8 of the best rolls we have ever had - butter oozing and a garlic salt/powder dusting the tops. We ordered the ziti in oil with broccoli, a chicken dish, fettuccine alfredo and eggplant parm. The portions are huge, we each took breakfast home for the next day. The cooks came out and personally asked how the dishes were. We honestly could not have asked for a better experience - they opened us with wide open arms and delivered top notch service. So many restaurants could take a lesson from this review. Still dreaming of...
Read moreMy wife and I came to visit this place because we wanted pizza. Cozy little pizza joint. The food was average in my opinion. Not bad, but not great either. The veggie pizza was good. Ingredients definitely fresh. The calamari was cooked very well and the sauce they give you with it is really good to. We asked for some more, but they gave me a different sauce, like a marinara or pizza base, which wasn't as flavorful. The bruchetta was good. The bread was a little under toasted in my opinion, and I felt it was missing a little something. I ordered the Chicken Marsala. They serve it with spaghetti pasta. Not the side I would go with personally. Other places usually serve it with mashed potatoes or something other. I just personally didn't think that it went with the marsala sauce, but the noodles were cooked very well! Maybe mashed potatoes? The salad they serve with it was ok as well. The veggies with it were cut in large chunks so you only got one thing with each bite. Like a bit of lettuce or a bite of cucumber. Would have preferred smaller pieces so it was easier to eat. Just basic veggies in the salad (lettuce, cucumber, onion, and some tomatoe). The creamy Italian dressing was tasty!
Overall if back on this side of town and I want pizza, I...
